October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗🎀🌸

When it comes to breast health, early detection saves lives. Regular screenings and annual mammograms remain our most powerful tools for catching cancer early when it is most treatable.

At HealthReach, we believe that high-quality, preventive healthcare services should be accessible to everyone in our community. We are incredibly grateful to our partners at Atrium Health and Novant Health for their continuous collaboration and support. Through partnership with these healthcare systems, our patients receive essential mammogram screenings and care that might otherwise be out of reach.

Together with Atrium Health and Novant Health, we are working to break down barriers to care and protect the health of our neighbors.

At HealthReach, our student interns are an indispensable part of our daily mission. Through their dedication and time, our clinic gains passionate, talented volunteers who step up to support essential clinical care, patient translation, and daily operations. In return, our interns gain hands-on, real-world healthcare experience that prepares them for future careers as physicians, physician assistants, and community health leaders.

We are so grateful to spotlight the dedicated students currently serving our clinic:

Adaeze Uzor-Enebeli: A sophomore Bonner Scholar at Davidson studying Biology and Neuroscience, Adaeze brings prior Medical Assistant experience and Spanish translation skills to support our patient care team.

Olivia Dew: In her fourth semester interning with HealthReach, Olivia is a Davidson pre-med student and active campus leader who is dedicated to deepening her patient care experience.

Christopher Hackney: An Elon University graduate preparing for PA school with a focus on dermatology, Christopher has volunteered with us for two years, utilizing his Spanish proficiency to care for local families.

Rimsha Syed: A junior pre-med student at Davidson in her third semester at HealthReach, Rimsha brings a background in Global Literary Theory and multilingual skills (Urdu/Hindi, Arabic, and Spanish) to support patient communication.

Tim Lee: A senior Biology major and Bonner Scholar at Davidson College with extensive biomedical research experience, Tim brings a strong commitment to leadership and community care.

We are thrilled to officially welcome back Alicia Gastelum as our Patient Care Coordinator! Many of you may remember Alicia, as she previously served in this role at the clinic for three years. We are beyond excited to have her back on our team, and Alicia is equally thrilled to return to serving our community!

Alicia holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and her background brings a strong, empathetic foundation to her work with patients. A dedicated patient advocate, she is fully bilingual and passionate about ensuring every individual receives compassionate, well-coordinated care.

Outside of the clinic, Alicia is a busy mother of two. In her free time, she loves spending time outdoors, reading, playing video games, and listening to music.

Thanks to their generosity, we are able to provide free flu shot vouchers to our patients. Keeping our community healthy and protected this flu season takes a village, and we are so grateful for local partners who assist in caring for our neighbors! 🍂

HealthReach Community Clinic is currently seeking volunteer nurses to support our mission of providing high-quality, free healthcare to uninsured adults in our community.

We are currently in need of support on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, though scheduling can be flexible.

We welcome actively licensed RNs, LPNs, and CMAs who are passionate about caring for underserved populations, as well as those able to commit to volunteering 3 to 5 hours at a time on an ongoing basis.

This past weekend, we were blessed by an incredible team of volunteers from Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church who generously gave their time and talents to refresh our clinic with a fresh coat of paint!

From our hallways and lobby to the front desk area, these volunteers rolled up their sleeves and transformed our space. Their hard work has created a brighter, more welcoming environment for the hundreds of patients who walk through our doors each year seeking healthcare, hope, and healing.

At HealthReach Community Clinic, we often say that it takes a community to care for a community, and this weekend was a perfect example. We are deeply grateful for Williamson's Chapel's continued partnership and commitment to serving our neighbors.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, HealthReach Community Clinic held its Annual Heroes Luncheon at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in downtown Mooresville. The Mooresville-Lake Norman Rotary is proud to have been a donor to this amazing organization over the years. Our small but mighty club makes it a priority to donate to their cause every year. This year, from left to right, Past President Sonny Morton, President-elect John McLaughlin, President Ann Nivens, and Past President Assaad Mounzer attended the celebration.

The HealthReach Community Clinic exists to provide all residents of Iredell County with high-quality health services, including primary care, medication, and lab services, regardless of ability to pay.
