🇺🇸⚓ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, UNITED STATES NAVY! ⚓🇺🇸

Today, we proudly salute the United States Navy and the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation with honor, courage, and commitment.

From the decks of our ships to the depths of the oceans, our Sailors stand ready to defend our freedom, protect our shores, and answer the call wherever duty takes them. Their sacrifices, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our nation embody the very best of American service.

From our veterans to those serving on active duty today, thank you for standing the watch, defending our freedoms, and carrying on the proud traditions of the United States Navy. We honor your service, remember those who never made it home, and stand in gratitude for all who have worn the uniform.

⚓ Fair winds and following seas! ⚓

From all of us at VFW Post 12187, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to keeping America free.

🇺🇸 HAPPY 251st BIRTHDAY, U.S. NAVY! 🇺🇸

💚 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY | OCTOBER 10 💚

Today, your VFW reminds everyone that mental health is just as important as physical health. 🇺🇸

For our veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and their families, some of the hardest battles are the ones no one else can see. The uniform may come off, the deployment may end, and life may move forward, but the invisible wounds of service can remain.

Let’s break the stigma surrounding mental health. Checking on your battle buddy, listening without judgment, offering a helping hand, or simply asking, “Are you really okay?” can make a difference bigger than you realize.

You are not weak for struggling. You are not alone in your fight. And you do not have to carry the weight by yourself.

At the VFW, we stand for more than honoring service and sacrifice. We stand for our brothers and sisters in arms long after they come home. Supporting one another means recognizing that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

🇺🇸 Check on your battle buddies. Check on your family. Check on yourself. Sometimes the person who always says, “I’m fine,” is the one who needs someone to ask twice.

If you are struggling, please reach out. Call or text 988, then press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line. You can also text 838255. Confidential support is available 24/7.

💚 No one fights alone. No veteran should ever feel forgotten.

From all of us at the VFW, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to our nation.

🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11 — WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation was attacked.

On September 11, 2001, 2977 innocent Americans were taken from us. First responders ran toward danger while others ran away. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members, and ordinary citizens answered the call with extraordinary courage.

And years later, on September 11, 2012, four more Americans made the ultimate sacrifice in Benghazi, Libya — U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen “Bub” Doherty.

Different places. Different circumstances. The same date. The same American spirit.

Today, we remember every life lost on that day and the families who have carried that loss for decades. We remember the courage of those who responded. We remember the Americans who stood their ground when danger came calling.

As veterans, we understand that freedom is never free. It is protected by those willing to stand in harm’s way and by a nation willing to remember their sacrifice.

May we never forget the fallen.
May we never forget their families.
May we never forget the courage of those who answered the call.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.
We still honor.
We still stand.

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸

VFW — We Honor the Dead by Serving the Living.

🇺🇸 TOMORROW, WE REMEMBER. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years later, we still remember exactly where we were when our nation changed forever.

On September 11, 2001, America was attacked, nearly 3,000 innocent lives were lost, and countless families, first responders, service members, and communities were forever changed.

The VFW invites our veterans, families, and community to stand together with the Town of Mooresville, the Mooresville/Lake Norman Exchange Club, and Richard’s Coffee Shop for a morning of remembrance, reflection, and honor.

📍Richard's Coffee Shop
🕗 8:00 a.m. — Gathering
🚶 8:46 a.m. — Silent Remembrance Walk to Liberty Park
🇺🇸 9:00 a.m. — 25th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony at Liberty Park

The ceremony will include remarks from Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kevin Swanson and Bob Hogan, President & CEO of Clermont Trust USA, LLC, along with a special performance by Anthony Kearns of The Irish Tenors.

Following the ceremony, everyone is invited back to Richard’s Coffee Shop for brunch.

As veterans, we understand that freedom comes with a price. We remember the innocent lives taken, the heroes who ran toward danger, the families who received the hardest knock on their door, and the men and women who answered the call to defend our nation in the years that followed.

We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Always Remembered. Never Forgotten. 🇺🇸

Please join us tomorrow, September 11, as our community comes together to honor the fallen, recognize the heroes, and remember the day that changed America forever.
