Peace Officer Memorial Run The Peace Officer Memorial Run Half Marathon and Full Gear Marathon, 5K and 5k Full Gear Kids Fun Run is on the first Sunday in October every year.

The Peace Officer Memorial Group of Stanislaus County (POMG) is excited to host the 2023 Peace Officer Memorial Run. This annual event was developed for the purpose of honoring sworn law enforcement personnel in Stanislaus County killed in the line of duty. The twenty Heroes of Stanislaus County will have their names and “End of Watch” dates proudly displayed along the course. The event will consi

st of a half marathon, 5K, and Kids Fun Run (including the 10K With A Cop 1 Mile Kickoff). Mark your calendar and make sure to bring the entire family to this great event. The half marathon course will highlight many jewels of Modesto including the Gallo Center for the Arts, McHenry Museum and Mansion, Dry Creek and Graceda Park as well as the beautiful College area. This fast, flat and scenic course is sure to be a draw for runners throughout the region. In addition to the race festivities, the public can enjoy the safety fair that POMG will be hosting near the start/finish line at the corner of 11th and I St in downtown Modesto. The fair will include vendors, Crime Prevention, K-9 Units, SWAT Teams, Equestrian Units, food trucks, and much more. The Peace Officer Memorial Run is much more than just a race, it is fun filled family experience.

Every Mile Has a Name. Every Step Has a Purpose.

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, our community will come together in downtown Modesto for the Peace Officer Memorial Run, honoring the 20 Stanislaus County peace officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

This isn't just another race.

It’s a 13.1-mile journey of remembrance, with each mile dedicated to one of our fallen heroes. Their photographs, agencies, and End of Watch dates will stand along the course, reminding us of the lives behind the badges and the families and communities they left behind.

Whether you run the Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, 5K, Virtual Run, or bring the kids for the Kids Fun Run, there is a place for you.

🇺🇸 WE NEED YOU! 🇺🇸

The Peace Officer Memorial Run 2026 is more than a race. It’s a day of remembrance, honor, and community, and we need volunteers to help make it happen!

There are several ways you can lend a hand:

🏃‍♀️ Packet Pick-Up Crew – help us get runners ready before race day
🔧 Set-Up Crew – help prepare the event area and course
🚧 Course Monitor – help keep our runners safe from traffic along the course and cheer them on!
🤝 General Volunteer – pitch in wherever you’re needed most

Whether you can give us a few hours before the race or help on race day, your time makes a difference. Every volunteer helps us honor the peace officers who gave everything in service to their communities.

ATTENTION!!!!!! If you were not able to pick up your 2025 Peace Officer Memorial Run age award or Medal, we will be distributing them this entire week at our Stanislaus County Police Activities League (PAL) office located at 1325 Beverly Dr Modesto CA. You can pick it up between the hours of 10am-4pm Monday thru Friday. We appreciate everyones patience.
