Heads up, friends! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ CalPride's centers in Sonora, Modesto, and Merced are closed tomorrow, July 3rd.

We are ALSO limiting our hours every Monday in July for some much needed rest! Our CalPride Sierras, CalPride Valle Central, CalPride Education, and CalPride Health Equity centers will be closed every Monday in July. CalPride Stanislaus will be open from 9AM-1PM every Monday.

TOMORROW IS OAKDALE PRIDE! ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷 Keep swiping to know more about what to expect, what to bring, and how to make sure Oakdale Pride is as successful and positive as it can be.

This includes CalPride's commitment to community-based harm reduction and conflict resolution at our Pride events. That means we will do everything to the best of our ability to reduce police involvement. Check slide 4 for our approach to safety and security at Oakdale Pride 💛

If you are feeling overwhelmed, need a minute to yourself, or do not want to be around law enforcement if they are present, please use the designated peer support space. It will be cool, calm, and quiet for you 🧡

It’s Juneteenth, California 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

For our Black LGBTQ+ folks, friends, and family, Pride and Juneteenth is an intersecting celebration of resilience, life, and love. It’s a reminder of our ongoing fight for liberation. We fight forward together.

“My Pride is Black, My Juneteenth is Q***r” is a 2022 piece written by Preston D. Mitchum for Southern Poverty Law Center.

“LGBTQ people are not political wedge issues, but real people with real experiences. Our stories intersect not only across struggles, but across the landscape of American history and our united future,” Mitchum writes. “I now enter all spaces as both Black and q***r, and it’s the only way I’m interested in showing up. It’s also now what I mean when I say I need my Pride to be Black and my Juneteenth to be q***r.”
