James* was abandoned by his parents when he was only eight months old. His grandmother took him in, as neither of his parents showed any interest in caring for him after they separated.

Sadly James began to steal from his grandmother. Despite her efforts to counsel him, the behavior continued, influenced by negative peer pressure from the neighborhood.

He often spent nights away from home and would return the following day. Over time, James began spending more time roaming the streets and coming home late. Eventually the grandmother sought help from Agape who took James in for rehabilitation and support.

James was enrolled in Agape’s program for three months, during which he received counseling through Scripture and life-skills training. Although he initially struggled with behavioral issues, he eventually completed the program successfully.

Last year James was reunited with his grandmother and re-enrolled in school. His story is a powerful testimony that people can truly change for the better. James no longer struggles with theft and has become a responsible boy who attends school regularly and helps his grandmother with household chores. He has also distanced himself from negative peer influences in the neighborhood.

His grandmother is overjoyed by the positive transformation she has seen in his life and expresses deep gratitude to Agape Children’s Ministry for their support and care. When we visited James at school, his teachers shared that his life has greatly transformed. They expressed their gratitude and said they continually pray for Agape because of the positive impact the ministry has had on James's life.

An update on the fire at Mama Ngina:

First of all, THANK YOU SO, so much to all who gave in this time of need. We are beyond grateful that you stepped in right away to meet the need.

Second, great news! After spending one night with Agape, all 58 children have returned back to their center after temporary dormitories were set up. This quick return of the children came as quite the surprise, as the last time Agape cared for Mama Ngina children back in 2023, they stayed with us for six months. We were expecting a similar situation this time when we sent out the ask.

Again, we are so grateful for all your generosity! All donated funds collected in Kenya will be directly transferred to Mama Ngina to help out with the cost of their fire. We will be reaching out individually to US donors next!

Update: This need has been met! Thank you to all who gave!

A fire broke out at Mama Ngina Children's Home in Kisumu, today. Thankfully these children are now safe and sound with us at Agape.

However, we are in urgent need of supplies from locals to house 58 extra kids at our Kisumu campus.

If you live in Kenya and are able to donate supplies directly to our Kisumu campus, we would be grateful!

We currently need:

🔥 Clothes for all ages
🔥 Foodstuffs
