What an incredible day at the Mobile Chamber Business Expo! 💗

We loved catching up with several of our amazing sponsors, making new connections, and — most importantly — meeting and hearing from several breast cancer survivors along the way. 🎀

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to share what Bras Across the CAUSEway is truly about.

Our mission is more than just a race. We go beyond the diagnosis.

Through the support of our community, sponsors, and partners, we provide direct financial assistance to local breast cancer patients facing the financial burdens of treatment. Eligible patients may receive up to $2,500 every six months and may reapply as needs continue. Each application includes verification of diagnosis and eligible financial needs with the patient’s oncology team and/or social worker. Whenever possible, approved assistance is paid directly to the vendor, with grocery and gas support provided through Walmart and Shell gift cards.

10 YEARS. ONE COMMUNITY. ONE MISSION. 💗

For the 10th Annual Bras Across the CAUSEway, we wanted a design that told more than the story of a race. We wanted it to tell the story of our community.

Look closely. 👀

Throughout this year’s design are little pieces of the people, places and partners who have helped carry this mission forward. Even some of the smallest details are a nod to the incredible community that continues to stand beside us year after year.

Because for 10 years, Bras Across the CAUSEway has never been about just crossing a finish line.

It’s been about a community coming together to help local breast cancer patients cross some of the hardest miles of their lives. 💗

The countdown is on! ✨

Tomorrow, we finally get to reveal our limited edition 10th Anniversary shirt… and we’ve been keeping a few secrets. 🤫

This year’s design is one of our favorites yet, and the shirt isn’t the only surprise we have in store. 👀

Since January, we’ve had the privilege of assisting 17 local breast cancer patients, with even more applications currently in progress. Every shirt, every registration, and every mile helps us continue providing direct financial assistance to local patients when they need it most. 💗

The growing demand for our culinary programs demonstrates that our model is not only making a meaningful difference in the communities we currently serve but is also addressing an unmet need across Alabama. The support provided by the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation has been instrumental in expanding awareness of our work and creating opportunities to reach more children with hands on culinary experiences, nutrition education, and STEAM advancement.

As a true change making organization in Alabama, the Foundation's support has extended far beyond funding a single program. It has open doors to new communities, new partnerships, and countless opportunities for children to discover confidence, curiosity, and learning through cooking.

How did that happen so fast?! To celebrate, we’re dropping a sneak peek of our first 3 Foundation Health shirts! 🤍

We’re especially proud to launch our Breast Cancer Awareness shirt! 🩷 100% of proceeds from this shirt will support Bras Across the Causeway AND go toward providing vital DME (durable medical equipment) to local breast cancer patients in need of better access.

We ordered a very small batch for now & we can’t wait to get our hands on them!! We will do a preorder for the next round!! 🎉

The impact of your miles... goes beyond the diagnosis. 💗

Breast cancer didn't just impact Patient 019's health.

It changed every part of her life.

During treatment, she lost her home. She and her 16-year-old daughter moved in with her elderly mother while trying to rebuild after the financial devastation cancer had caused.

Then another crisis came.

Just hours before her family's belongings were set to go to auction, she reached out to Bras Across the CAUSEway. The storage unit holding everything they had left was at risk of being lost forever.

Because of your generosity, our Board was able to approve emergency assistance before the auction.

A short time later, we received this message:

"You have been absolutely amazing from our very first contact. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and for moving so quickly to provide assistance when my daughter and I needed it most."

"I look forward to the day when I have the opportunity to give back and support others the way you have supported us."

Those words belong to one of the 16 local breast cancer patients our community has been honored to serve since January.

And the need continues.

Right now, we have FOUR additional applications under review, each representing another individual or family navigating the financial burden that so often follows a breast cancer diagnosis.

Because the impact of breast cancer goes beyond the diagnosis, so does our mission.

This is the impact of your miles.

Every race registration. Every sponsorship. Every donation. Every bralunteer hour.
