And we are back! Following the Montana Two Spirit Gathering last week, some time was needed to rest, recharge, and reflect. Gathering in community is powerful, joyful, and meaningful—but it also takes a lot of energy.
That rest was a good reminder that self-care isn’t always something luxurious or elaborate. Sometimes self-care is simply giving yourself permission to slow down. It might be taking five minutes to watch the sunset, getting some extra sleep, spending time with people you love, or taking care of your health.
Self-care is also a powerful tool for HIV prevention and sexual health. Knowing your HIV/STI status, getting tested regularly, and using prevention tools that work for you are all ways of taking care of yourself.
So, after a little rest, we’re back—and so is your friendly reminder to take care of yourself. Whether that means watching tonight’s sunset or taking a few minutes for a free, rapid, and confidential HIV/STI test at the Gay Health Task Force, you are worth the time. ❤️
