🕯️🌼💀 Día de los Mu***os — Honoring Lives, Remembering Love, Caring for Our Future 🌈❤️
November 1–2 marks Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), a cherished Mexican tradition rooted in Indigenous customs and influenced by Catholic observances. It is a time to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed, honor their memories, and cherish the connections that remain.
🌼 November 1: Traditionally honors children who have passed (Día de los Angelitos).
🕯️ November 2: Traditionally honors deceased adults through ofrendas, marigolds, photographs, favorite foods, and shared memories.
🌈 At the Gay Health Task Force, we remember our friends, partners, family members, chosen family, and generations of LGBTQ+ people we have lost, especially those whose lives were cut short by HIV/AIDS.
Their lives mattered. Their stories matter. Their legacies live on. ❤️
Remembering those we have lost also reminds us of the importance of caring for those who are still here.
❤️ Health is more than the absence of illness. It includes physical, mental, emotional, and community well-being. We honor those who came before us by fighting HIV stigma, supporting mental health, encouraging HIV/STI testing and prevention, and advocating for compassionate, accessible healthcare.
Remember the past. Celebrate life. Protect the future.
The Gay Health Task Force is here for you with FREE, rapid, confidential, and judgment-free HIV/STI testing.
🕯️ With love, respect, and remembrance. 🌼
