Do you want to deepen your connection to the natural world? This class is for you!

Nature exists within all of us. With our high paced and technology driven culture it is the norm to become disconnected from nature's rhythms, cycles, and messages. In this class, we will begin to open that door to nature in each other's presence, and remember parts of ourselves that are lost and withheld from our daily life. Throughout this class, we will explore concepts and practices within the fields of deep ecology, eco-therapy, and ecopsychology. Reconnecting to the part's of our psyche that are intertwined with the natural world allows us to be healthier and purposed humans in our lives.
This will be a space where we allow our emotional experience which allows us to reach the aspects of self that are connected to nature. This class may challenge you to be vulnerable with new people and community. We will explore and deepen our relationships to the natural world together through individual exploration, connection, and reflection on our experiences in the group. This may include nature art and nature journaling depending on the group and the direction that the class energy takes. Come prepared with warm clothes for the weather, writing utensils and journals, as well as a natural object that has significance to you. The fall and winter allows the psyche and spirit to turn more inward. Join us during the fall/winter time where we need community and connection to nature the most.

Want to take your relationship with friction fire to the next level? Join us for this two part series where we will learn to make fire using only primitive tools and harvested local materials. In the first class, we’ll get our materials and tools together and begin work on a bow drill kit. In the second class, we’ll finish our kits and learn to make fire. We’ll use stone blades to shape our bow drill kits, so students will learn the fundamentals of flint knapping, cordage, and which natural materials will get the job done. We hope you’ll join us for this challenging and rewarding experience!
