As a Sierra Leonean, I always try to travel to places that does not require visa. Countries that requires me to physically send in my passport or have me appear in person-are generally not on my list of countries to visit.

Visa free, evisa, visa on arrival countries tells me, i may be generally welcomed as a person from a black African nation.

Spend your time and money visiting countries where you feel welcomed.

Here's the link of countries Sierra Leone passport holders can visit without visa.

🇳🇦 Namibia Makes Historic $750 Million Debt Repayment

In a bold move that signals fiscal discipline and economic maturity, Namibia has made a record one-day debt repayment of $750 million (approximately N$14.3 billion) the largest single-day debt maturity in the country’s history.

💡 Why this matters:

✅ Reduces external debt and reliance on foreign lenders

🔄 Shifts borrowing to local markets, strengthening domestic financial systems

🌍 Boosts investor confidence in Namibia’s fiscal responsibility

📈 Improves credit rating outlook (currently BB- by Fitch), potentially lowering future borrowing costs

This landmark repayment is more than just a financial transaction it’s a statement. Namibia is stepping up as a serious player in global finance.

Burkina Faso has rejected a US proposal to accept migrants deported under President Donald Trump’s renewed immigration crackdown, which involves sending migrants to third countries with which they have no ties. Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré called the offer “indecent” and “contrary to the principle of dignity,” saying, “Burkina Faso is a land of dignity—a destination, not a place of expulsion.” His comments followed the US Embassy in Ouagadougou suspending most visa services and redirecting Burkinabe applicants to Togo. “Is this a way to put pressure on us? Is this blackmail? Whatever it is… Burkina Faso is a place of dignity, not a place of expulsion,” Traoré added. Countries like Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, Eswatini, and South Sudan have already agreed to accept US deportees.

Jane Goodall has left this world, but the forest still speaks her name. She entered Gombe in 1960 not as a conqueror, but as a listener. The chimpanzees welcomed her, not with words, but with trust. She changed science by showing that they feel, think, grieve, and love.
But Jane was never just a scientist. She was a bridge. Between species. Between hearts. She gave her life to advocacy, to youth, to hope, always hope.
We, the watchers of the wild, mourn a mighty tree fallen. But her roots run deep. In every young voice rising for the planet, in every creature still left un-caged, her legacy lives on.
The forest is quieter now. But her echo remains.

If Africa stop participating in IMF and World Bank programs, what will happen? If Africa not able to build its own lending institution-backed by gold and other minerals, loaning at a low interest rate? We must think outside the box.

Kenya's Ruto blasts international financial institutions such as the IMF for "unfairness" toward Africa; says the lenders give more money to wealthier nations while "punishing" Africa with heavy interest rates, little loan amounts, and many conditions.
