Today, Four Directions Preschool wore orange to observe the Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding School Survivors.

September 30th is a national day to remember indigenous youth who were uprooted from their homes and placed into residential boarding schools that stripped their identity and culture. Also known as Orange Shirt Day, the observation originates from the story of Phyllis Webstad, who on her first day of boarding school, had her favorite orange shirt taken away from her - a symbol of the systematic violence of the schools that erased native identity and culture.

The Family Partnership strives to continue the work of generational healing with our communities. We honor those we lost and uplift the stories of survivors who reinforce the truth that Every Child Matters.

✨TFP Program Spotlight: PRIDE✨

For more than 40 years, TFP has operated an anti-sex trafficking program called PRIDE (Promoting Recovery, Independence, Dignity, and Equality). We provide holistic support services for individuals and families to live independent lives free of exploitation and abuse.

In 2025, PRIDE reached 723 participants. We also expanded shelter capacity, added a PRIDE therapist who offers free mental health services, and grew community connections.

PRIDE also operates a free monthly community health clinic that offers vaccinations, HIV and STI testing, and health insurance enrollment. We partner with local organizations such as Southside Community Health Services, The Aliveness Project, Red Door Clinic, Hennepin County, and many more.

🌟TFP Program Spotlight: Early Childhood Education and Care🌟

🍎Did you know? Only 60% of preschoolers statewide graduate kindergarten-ready. For households with low incomes, that number drops to 52%.

🍎In 2025, 100% of Four Directions preschoolers graduated kindergarten-ready. 4D also expanded infant care and cultural programming.

🍎We also provided developmental therapies to 161 children. Our staff of highly trained providers offer occupational, physical, speech, and play-based therapy to all preschool students.

Our team has been having a pele-ton of fun this week! We'd like to extend our deepest gratitude to Chartwell Financial Advisory, in partnership with Best Corporate Events, who organized a group activity on Tuesday for their staff to assemble children's bicycles. Thanks to their generous support, 26 kids from the Family Partnership will have the opportunity to ride in style this summer. We look forward to our kiddos getting outside to enjoy all the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of biking.

TFP is proud to share our 2025 Annual Report: Rooted in Healing, Growing Together. Thanks to partners like you, we were able to provide services to over 4,000 individuals amid a period of great hardship and uncertainty for our community. CEO Emily Larson shares her reflections after her first year leading the organization:

Ready, set, SPLASH! Students from Four Directions preschool recently took a neighborhood field trip to Powderhorn Park. The wading pool was the perfect way for our learners to cool off on a summer day.
