New data from the City of Minneapolis confirms what we already knew: Operation Metro Surge was a hard blow to our region's economy. United Way's Shannon Smith Jones spoke with WCCO & CBS News Minnesota about data from our 211 helpline that exposes the hardships experienced by Minnesota families over the last six months.

Operation Metro Surge cost Minneapolis nearly $700 million in lost wages and business closures, according to an updated assessment city leaders released Wednesday.
