Postsecondary credentials pave the way to economic mobility. 🎓✨

This August, as we join StriveTogether in focusing on postsecondary enrollment, local data shows just how vital a credential is for long-term success:

High School Graduation: 85% of low-income students eligible for Free & Reduced-Price Lunch graduate high school—nearly matching the 87% rate of all students.

The Postsecondary Gap: Only 26% of low-income students earn a postsecondary credential, compared to 34% of all students.

The Payoff: 56% of low-income students who complete a credential earn a living wage above the ALICE (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) threshold—higher than the overall student average (47%).

High school graduation is just the first step. By strengthening pathways into and through postsecondary education, we can ensure every student reaches economic stability and thrives.

Postsecondary enrollment outcomes are shaped well before senior year, through rigorous coursework, consistent advising, financial aid access and clear, well-matched pathway options. When communities align data and resources around these factors, more students enroll ready for what comes next.

As a member of the StriveTogether Network, Generation Next is committed to strengthening these systems here in the .
