The Link hosted our annual All Staff Retreat on Friday at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory!

Our agency gathered to celebrate successes from the last year, acknowledge staff who go above and beyond through our Excellence in Action awards, honor our many team members with 2, 5, 10, and 15 (!!!) year work anniversaries, and spend time enjoying a meal together.

A HUGE thank you to our incredible Training & Leadership Committee for planning an impactful and energizing day!

Shout out to the awesome team at Mortenson for packing 400 outreach kits for youth in our community!

Each kit includes basic needs supplies, such as Band-Aids and hygiene products, alongside comfort items like a coloring book and colored pencils.

These kits help ensure youth experiencing homelessness or poverty have the resources they need to stay safe and healthy, while also reminding them that they are seen, valued, and cared for by their community. 💙

Thank you to our longtime partners at Xcel Energy Minnesota for spending their annual Day of Service with The Link!

Xcel Energy volunteers went above and beyond to prepare homemade meals and cookies for young people, make tie blankets for youth moving into housing, and help spruce up the area outside of our main office.

We could not be more grateful for Xcel's years of generous support!

Our Youth Advocacy Division celebrated the end of summer with their annual kickball game!

Youth and staff across programs participated in the friendly competition and enjoyed grilling out together.

In addition to their event support, Prime General Contractors have been a key partner in renovating The Link's shelters for youth experiencing homelessness and/or s*x trafficking over the past year.

We are grateful for all of the ways Prime works to advance safety, dignity, and stability for youth and families in our community.

We are so grateful to Edina Realty - Edina 6800 France for helping make sure young people at The Link have what they need for a successful school year! 🎒📚

This amazing team donated and packed 50 backpacks filled with school supplies—from notebooks and folders to calculators and water bottles. They also teamed up with Greater Twin Cities United Way to pack 1,000 snack packs, including 300 that went directly to young people at The Link!

Thank you for helping ensure youth have the supplies and snacks they need for a successful first day of school and beyond. Most importantly, thank you for standing with young people and reminding them that they have a community that cares about them. ❤

“Housing is beyond brick and mortar, and we create that together.”

As we wrap up , we’re reminded that supportive housing is about so much more than a roof over someone’s head.

For young people experiencing homelessness, a safe place to call home creates the foundation to build stability, pursue education and employment, care for their health, and envision a future.

At The Link, supportive housing combines a home with the relationships and resources young people need to thrive. And we couldn’t do this work without our community.
