The Northside Funders Group (NFG) is a collaborative of public, private and corporate funders aligning investments to catalyze comprehensive and sustainable change in North Minneapolis.

A vibrant North Minneapolis is not only critical to the people who live, work, and do business there, it is important to the long-term prosperity of the entire city and region. Northside Funders Group is working to reduce disparities and build equity, assets and opportunity for everyone in North Minneapolis. Our goal is to remove barriers and make ourselves more accessible and accountable to each other, our partners in this work and the Northside community. Each year, Northside Funders Group members invest $12 to $17 million in nearly 200 organizations serving North Minneapolis. Despite this significant financial support, challenges persist and investments do not always lead to sustainable change and a better quality of life for residents. One of the first steps toward improved outcomes is changing the way funders work. Therefore we are aligned in both vision and resources and believe that by working together, we can achieve more than any one of us can alone. It’s in this way that we go “beyond the grant” to create lasting impact.
