Your vote is more than a choice on a ballot—it is one way to have a voice in decisions that can affect your wallet, your household, and your community. From housing costs and wages to taxes, education, transportation, and access to resources, elected officials help shape policies that influence everyday financial life. This conversation connects voting to the issues people experience every day, while encouraging participants to learn who represents them, understand what those leaders are responsible for, research the issues that matter to them, and make their voices heard at the polls this November.

This is a virtual livestream, streaming on YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn. It will be recorded and stored on our website and YouTube channel. I look forward to hearing from you, and hope you can join us.

ABEP + Arise Saturday Morning Connect!

Last Saturday, ABEP + Arise stopped by LC Coffee Lounge to sit down with business owner LaCresha Carothers and learned more about her business, her entrepreneurial journey, and the community she serves.

Saturday Morning Connect is about getting the word out about Arise + ABEP while also getting out into the community, building relationships, and learning more about the people and businesses we serve. It’s an opportunity to listen, connect, and better understand how we can support the communities we’re a part of.

LC Coffee Lounge is also more than a place to grab a great cup of coffee—it hosts special events that bring people together.

🌱☕ Coming up: Coffee & Plants, hosted by Roots & Bloom
📅 Saturday, September 26
⏰ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

If you're in the area, stop by, grab some coffee, check out the plants, and support local businesses!

Thank you, LaCresha, for welcoming us and sharing your story.

Your rent or mortgage. Your paycheck. Your child’s school. Your taxes. The roads you drive on. The resources available in your neighborhood.

What does any of that have to do with your vote? ...A lot, actually.

That’s what we’re talking about on the next Beyond Table Talk. No political debate. No telling you who to vote for. We’re breaking down how decisions made by the people we elect can show up in our everyday lives—and our wallets.

Joining the conversation are Anika Robbins, President & CEO of The ANIKA Foundation and founder of Black Votes Matter MN; Thomas Berry, Vice President of the Minneapolis NAACP and community advocate; and moderator Chaz Sandifer, Founder & CEO of theNEWmpls, entrepreneur and community leader.

If you’ve ever wondered, “Why do people keep saying my vote matters?” — this conversation is for you.

We’re getting out of the office and into the community! ☕

This Saturday, ABEP and Arise Community Credit Union are hanging out at LC Coffee Lounge, and we want YOU to come hang out with us!

Why? Because y’all are who matter most. We want to meet you, hear what’s on your mind, answer questions, laugh a little, and have some real conversation—no presentations, no agenda, and definitely no pressure.

And while we’re connecting, we get to show some love to LC Coffee Lounge, a new local business in Brooklyn Center, MN! Come check out the space, grab something good, and help us welcome them to the community.

Good coffee.
Real conversation.
Community connections.

That’s it. That’s the Saturday morning.

📅 Saturday, September 19 | 11 a.m.–Noon

, ABEP and Arise Community Credit Union joined the community at Open Streets West Broadway!

Events like Open Streets give us an opportunity to meet people where they are, build relationships, and make sure our community knows about the financial resources and opportunities available to them.

We also love when our board and task force members show up in support! A special thank you to Ben Hering, Arise CCU Supervisory Committee Member and ABEP Board Secretary, and Trent Bowman, ABEP Task Force Member, for stopping by and supporting us in the community.

We enjoyed the conversations, connections, and energy along West Broadway!

Want to learn more? Connect with ABEP and Arise to see how we can support your financial journey.
