As America continues to wrestle with our freedom of speech and of the press, Rise & Remember hosted a timely conversation on Our Fight for Racial Justice and Our First Amendment Rights during our festival on Sunday, May 24th. Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder reports on the event.

On this day, five years ago, the City of Minneapolis forced the reopening of George Floyd Square seeking to end one of the most powerful demonstrations of resistance to racial injustice in our time. That same day, undercover government agents took the life of Winston Smith in Uptown, Minneapolis. Protesters stood at both sites in defense of black lives.
