Hennepin county budget hearings are underway, with a proposed $39 Million dollar increase for the Hennepin County Sheriffs office. Do you support the proposal? You can share your comments (keep it short, 2 minutes or less) by calling the public comment line at 612-688-3545 and recording a voicemail for the board of Commissioners, or by contacting your commissioner directly at [email protected]

There are opportunities to provide comments in-person on this year's budget, specific departments and programs during the Open Forum portion of the Board of Commissioner's Committee meetings. Committee meetings start at 1:30 PM CST.

Tomorrow - October 7 – Join a Bike Audit on 34th Street!

In 2029, the City of Minneapolis plans to build a Neighborhood Greenway along 34th Street between Hiawatha and Hennepin. It’s a chance to build a world-class biking greenway. As the City begins its planning and engagement, they’ll need community input from the residents who know the street the best. Come join a slow-roll bike audit to document conditions and share your vision for 34th Street, October 7, 4:00-5:30 pm.

Optionally, stay at Powderhorn Park & Rec to join the city’s Open House about the 34th St. project, Oct. 7, 5-7 pm.
