Join the Minneapolis Park Board for a movie in the park at Lynnhurst Park on Thursday, August 27. They will be presenting "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" and it will start at dusk (about 8:30pm). The Lynnhurst Neighborhood Association will be there handing out free popcorn. Hope to see you there!

Pavement preservation work on Lyndale Avenue between 56th and 31st streets begins August 18
Beginning on Tuesday, August 18, Hennepin County will be doing pavement preservation work on Lyndale Avenue (County Road 22) between 56th and 31st streets in Minneapolis.

This work will last through Friday, August 21 and is weather dependent.

Lyndale Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in one direction at a time. Flaggers will be on site to guide drivers around the work area and will alternate traffic between northbound and southbound travel.

If you plan on traveling on Lyndale Avenue within the project area, pay attention to signs, watch for flaggers, and plan for extra travel time.

Just a quick reminder about the community meeting tonight at 6:30pm at Mt Olivet with updates on new community center in the 1700 W. 50th Street Chapel space.

As you might know, Mount Olivet has received permission from the Minneapolis City Council to deconstruct the chapel located at 1700 W. 50th Street. We were so grateful for the neighbors who participated in a community meeting a year ago to talk about our hopes, values, and vision for turning this site in a community gathering place. As we prepare to take the next steps to realize these hopes, we invite you to another neighborhood meeting to hear your thoughts. We are eager to share some developments in our plans and to share with you the necessary next steps for Mount Olivet.

We hope you can join us on Monday, August 17, at 6:30 in the rehearsal hall at Mount Olivet. Please enter door #3, at the far south end of the building. There will signs to direct you to the hall and volunteers present to help. Representatives from HGA, our architectural firm, will also be present at the meeting.
