We invite you to join us on Dec 25 at 11:00am for Community Yoga + Chai

In a season that often demands we pour all our energy outward, how do we refill our own cup?
We often forget that community care and self-care are deeply connected; we cannot sustainably
care for others without first nurturing ourselves.

This class is an invitation to do just that. We’ll begin with an all-levels practice to move,
breathe, and release what no longer serves us, ending with a guided relaxation to restore your
inner balance. Followed by chai, baked goods(gluten free and vegan options too), and community.

This is a sliding scale donation offering. Please register at peopleandcraft.org

It’s almost that time of year again when the lakes freeze and are back on the ice. We are overjoyed to be apart of this annual winter public art tradition. This year classes will be led by James Orione and a bilingual class taught in English and Spanish led by Sofia Padilla . You are invited to come move, breath, be in community and practice. The program information is below.

Practice Fro-Gahhh! Each session will be grounded in a topic related to climate and/or racial justice. Sessions are every Saturday at 1:30PM. There will also be a BIPOC-only session Sunday January 25 at 1:30PM and a bilingual class with Sofia Padilla of Yoga Para La Gente on January 31 No sign-up needed—just show up! FAQ: What to wear? Anything comfortable and warm! What to bring? A spirit of curiosity, a willingness to be in community, and share this frozen experience. Limited mats available—BYO if you can!

This!!!! 👆🏿

Posted by • Yoga is not just a practice—it’s a tradition.
And traditions deserve more than surface-level celebration.

They deserve Remembrance, Responsibility & Respect.

This post isn’t about gatekeeping.
It’s about root-keeping.

We’ll be exploring this with care in Beyond the Pose—
a mini training on philosophy, self-care, and cultural awareness for yoga teachers and seekers who want to walk this path with depth.

May 16–18. Online.

It’s about that time!!? Late to post but prepared to change my behavior. What about you?

Posted by• An economic blackout is happening on February 28th. To protest economic inequality and continued high costs of living, a grassroots organization is calling on people in the U.S. not to spend money on gas, fast food, or at major retailers for 24 hours — and it’s gaining momentum on (and off) social media.

“The winter solstice (uttarayana) is the prefect time to acknowledge that we at some point reach the deepest point of ignorance, sorrow, and suffering. Very much like the northward movement of the sun toward brightness one day at a time, we too can move toward insight, peace, and resolution.”

Words from

Posted by• Sadhana Secrets for Winter Solstice!

Happy Winter Solstice, also known as Uttarayana. It is the 6 months time period between December 21 to June 21.

The step by step and consistent lengthening of the solar cycle conspires us to wake up and stay awake. As per Vedic texts, this is the time period of grace, wisdom, auspiciousness and enlightenment. Yogis, sages, realized beings and Gurus have chosen this time period consciously for attaining samadhi, leaving their physical body and giving the shaktipat (sacred initiation of awakening) to the disciples who are ready.

Practice Gayatri Mantra with the sankalpa of enlightenment - to invoke awakening of the insight, wisdom and blossoming of the consciousness at the dawn and dusk every day.
May the darkness of our collective consciousness be blinded by the light of our collective consciousness.

For Gayatri mantra: tune into my album available on iTunes and Amazon Music. 🎵

We/I would be honored if you could join us in practice tomorrow for Give To The Max Day. There are many opportunities to give tomorrow and we would like to give you movement + food + community.

• Give to the Max Day, Minnesota’s annual day of giving, is this Thursday, November 21!

Join us at the studio for a potluck and practice the evening of Give to the Max Day. There will be food (bring a dish to share!), a yoga practice led by Julia Andrighetti, and conversation around our potential move.

We will also be selling yoga books on a pay-what-you-can basis!

Your registration donation goes toward our $4,000 Give to the Max Day goal. Let us know you’re coming by registering at www.one-yoga.org.

Can’t make it to the event but still want to support our fundraiser? Make a financial contribution today at https://www.givemn.org/organization/one-yoga ( l i n k i n b i o )

Feel all the feels

Posted by• Seeing an overwhelming amount of “well let’s get to work” attempts to rally and encourage. Maybe there are some of us who need the urgency of a mission in order to survive. I’m trying to honor that. But some of us are a different kind of exhausted. I keep thinking, do we even get a day?

Just because you’ve braced yourself for the worst, doesn’t mean it’s any less terrible when it comes. Whatever you thought might come, today is for grief. For sadness, anger. Today is not for shallow platitudes and sentimental pep talks. Nor is it the time to immediately demand more work from Black women and those who have given their bodies and time to attempt to redirect the ship to shore. We have given so much. Tend to the wounds. Rest some. Breathe as deeply as one can in a country that kneels on our throats daily and makes no apologies.

Breathing with you.
