Unity in the Community is Richfield's annual celebration of the many cultures that call Richfield home. Bring your family, and stop by to see unique live performances; meet Richfield police officers and firefighters; get connected with community resources; and even get new backpacks and school supplies to get the school year started in style!

This year's event is this Thursday, August 13 at Veterans Park from 4 to 7 p.m. Ice cream will be available (first-come, first-serve), and kids can enjoy hands-on crafts and science activities as well as performances by Ritmo Latino, Ha Family Lion Dance Troupe, and IBall4life basketball entertainment. See you there!

🍕🍨Can you ever have too much pizza? For this week's edition of Where-Should-We-Eat Wednesday, allow us to introduce Nicolo Pizza & Gelato!

Located at the corner of 66th St. and Richfield Parkway in the Cedar Point Commons area, Nicolo is part of the Eat Your Heart Out hospitality company that's bringing fresh Italian food and gelato to the south metro.

Nicolo is serving up pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads, and yes, gelato...and best of all, they're a company who gives back. 20% of all profits go to support Every Meal, a Minnesota nonprofit that helps fight childhood hunger by providing food to families in need through Minnesota schools. Nicolo is not only good food, it's good neighbors!

Pro tip: Try the Caprese salad. You're welcome. 🙂

Need something fun to do this weekend? We've got not one but TWO awesome events going on in Richfield, practically right next door to each other!

Start the day at the Richfield Historical Society for their annual ice cream social. Ice cream for purchase, inflatables, a visit from Happy Jolly Llamas, and live music from Bluefish MN! Not to mention tours of the historic Bartholomew House; all going on from 1 to 4 p.m. Free entry!

Then head over to Fred Babcock VFW Post 5555 for their big Fred Babcock Memorial and 250th family celebration: Food court, kids' activities, and live music from Verge from 1 to 5 p.m.

The perfect way to kick off your August!

🪇🌮On Tuesday, July 21, the high will be below 80 for the first time in weeks; making it the perfect time to check out the high-energy Latin dance music of Salsa del Soul outdoors at the Richfield Band Shell on 66th Street! Pro tip: Grab dinner from the Tacos el Kevin food truck while you're there.

🎸When things heat up later in the week, it's time to head back inside on Friday night, July 24 for Hans and the Percolators at Richfield's Fred Babcock VFW Post 5555! Rock, country, blues, R&B...you name it, they do it. Good food and good music; you can't beat that combo.

🍚Have you been missing Red Pepper as much as we have? Just in time for Where-Should-We-Eat Wednesday, this local Richfield favorite is back! Red Pepper has re-opened in a new location at 67th and Penn and we can't wait to welcome them back to the neighborhood!

Poolapalooza returns to Richfield! Beat the heat and hit up Richfield's Olympic-sized pool this Saturday, July 18! From noon to 4 p.m., the pool will host DJ music, yard games, and the classic cardboard boat race contest (see the rules and register your team here: https://tinyurl.com/yre27w9n).
