Big thanks to Restore America's Estuaries and Long Island Sound Partnership for their continued support! 🎉 The Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund strengthens our shell recycling program, fosters partnerships with peer organizations, and helps us grow as an organization. Eat oysters, support sustainability, and make a difference close to home! This summer, support Connecticut’s only shell recycling program by dining with our restaurant partners. Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Oyster Club CT in Mystic and Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill in New Haven—two delicious spots helping turn shells into something meaningful.

A big thank you to The Rockfall Foundation for supporting our shell recycling program! They visited our shell pile and we had a blast at their 3rd Annual Oysters at the Point fundraiser at Saybrook Point Resort & Marina (one of our recycling partners!) earlier this month. CORR in action with Grade 5 at Barnum School!

We had an amazing time teaching students about oyster recycling, marine conservation, and how recycled shells help restore our local ecosystems. It’s always inspiring to see the next generation excited about protecting our shoreline and making a difference for the environment 💙♻️🥽🦪

This week we’ve officially started moving shells to the Bureau of Aquaculture as another step in the recycling and curing process before it can return to the water and help restore our reefs.

And of course… every shell pile needs protection. Meet our official Shell Security Guard keeping watch on the operation 🐦
