Mayor Smith shared with us some of his fondest memories of our founder, Mary Ann Wasil and her ability to Choose Joy each day. We love having the support of the Milford community while providing our resources to schools and communities around the world.

Thank you Milford Road Runners for your support!

Fourteen roadrunners and a pooch, Kammy (also adorned in pink), came out last night to run for Breast Cancer Awareness and raise funds for the incredible team at The Get In Touch Foundation.

The crew raised $150! WOW ...

And the Club is adding a contribution of $5 per participant. For the math challenged, that is $225 in total. Great Job!!!

And this offer is on the table for the Wednesday run,
so..bring your pink..bring your pocketbook (optional)..and bring your pooch (or bird?)
and let's keep the momentum going!

Wednesday:
Time: 6pm
Place: parking lot behind the Milford courthouse
Particulars: 3 to 6 miles at various paces.
New runners will NOT be left to perish on their own.

You can still get your pink bulb to light CT pink! For a $10 donation, Custom Illuminations will install a solar-powered pink bulb at your mailbox (CT residents only!)

Your full donation goes toward our mission of providing breast health education resources to schools completely free of charge.

Custom Illuminations' team of volunteers has been busy installing the lights as of 10/1. There has been a large response to the campaign (which we love to hear!) and it's statewide, just know you should be seeing your light soon!

Today, we’re giving you more than a reminder. We’re giving you an actionable step.

Our mission is to help young people understand the importance of knowing their normal before they reach the age of routine breast cancer screening. Because breast health shouldn’t be a conversation that starts later in life, it should be something we learn about, talk about, and feel empowered to act on much earlier.

That’s why we provide school nurses and educators with free, age-appropriate resources that make breast health education actionable in the classroom. And it's why we remind young adults to take a moment each month to do a breast self-exam and know their normal.

This October, take the first step. Know your normal. Then make breast health a lifelong habit.

Meet Rory! 🏃‍♀️

A full-circle moment, Rory was a GIT student ambassador and received our Daisy Wheel program at Lauralton Hall. Rory experienced the impact of our program firsthand, and today, she’s continuing to champion that mission in an incredible new way: running 26.2 miles through the streets of New York City to help ensure more young people have access to the knowledge and tools to take an active role in their breast health.
