Celebrating over 50 years of parading in Metairie! Argus commands the streets on Mardi Gras Day! Argus observed Jupiter cheating on his wife.

Argus was named after the Greek Mythology God, Argus, the all-seeing with one hundred eyes. Jupiter ordered Mercury to cut the head off of Argus. The Goddess Juno, seeing this, took the hundred eyes off of Argus and put them on the tail of her peacock, where they remain today. That is why the peacock is the logo of the Krewe of Argus and is the backdrop of the Captain's float in the parade.
