Krewe of Argus Celebrating over 50 years of parading in Metairie! Argus commands the streets on Mardi Gras Day! Argus observed Jupiter cheating on his wife.

Argus was named after the Greek Mythology God, Argus, the all-seeing with one hundred eyes. Jupiter ordered Mercury to cut the head off of Argus. The Goddess Juno, seeing this, took the hundred eyes off of Argus and put them on the tail of her peacock, where they remain today. That is why the peacock is the logo of the Krewe of Argus and is the backdrop of the Captain's float in the parade.

Our Krewe is sending a huge, heartfelt thank you to The Hondo Rodeo for bringing a wild time to the Crescent City! Ever since you joined us in last year’s Mardi Gras parade, we knew something special was coming—and you did not disappoint.
From thrilling rodeo competitions to incredible live music, you gave our entire community a weekend to remember. The energy, the hospitality, the spirit—pure magic!
We are so grateful you chose our city, and even more grateful to now call you part of the Argus family. Y’all come back now, ya hear? 🤠💜💚💛
