Amateur radio is still relevant in today’s technology environment. When there is no utility power, no internet connection, and no cell phone working - we can send emails and text messages, and talk with people all over South Louisiana, the nation, and the world.

Stop by Jefferson Amateur Radio Club clubhouse in Wally Pontiff Jr Playground, Metairie, LA, and learn about the services we procvide to the community. North American Field Day is this weekend - yearly since 1933 - where we demonstrate to the public the services we provide in Emergency Operations and in other ways.

We are looking for folks who want to help out with ARRL Field Day on June 27, 28 at the club in Wally Pontriff Playground in Metairie. Lots of opportunity to do CW, SSB, and FT-8 and there are lots of other jobs to do that don't involve getting on the radio or lifting anything heavy. You don't have to be a member, or even a license ham operator.

So bring your kids, friends, neighbors and come see what amateur radio is all about and why we love it

We have an Elmer's night the first Thursday of every month. You can come and ask questions, bring in equipment to get checked out, and listen to talks that people have asked for. May 7 is a talk on the NanoVNA, and maybe how to switch your Windows 10 computer to Linux Mint, if there is interest. Zoom meeting code available by emailing [email protected]

If you uploaded before that time, you should have received an Attention message informing you that the uploader was in test mode and that your log wasn't accepted. If this happened to you, please resubmit.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience and hope that you see this message and resubmit if necessary.
Thanks to all who participated yesterday.
