Yesterday, the Jefferson Chamber welcomed business and community leaders for our 2026 State of Jefferson, presented by First Horizon Bank, highlighting the continued growth, economic momentum, and opportunities shaping the future of Jefferson Parish!

We were honored to hear from Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng, Council Chairwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, who shared valuable perspectives on the Parish's progress, ongoing investments in infrastructure, economic development, public safety, and the initiatives helping Jefferson Parish Government remain a strong place to live, work, and do business.

🏆 We were also proud to recognize Lauren Call, Assistant Director of Personnel for Jefferson Parish, as this year's Joseph S. Yenni Award recipient in recognition of her service and contributions to Jefferson Parish.

🌟 The Leadership Jefferson Class of 2027 kicked off their first session with a day focused on Civic & Community Engagement!

Class members gained valuable insight into local government, community leadership, and civic involvement through discussions with Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng, Council Chairwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken, and a panel of five mayors representing municipalities across Jefferson Parish:

🏆 Jefferson Parish student Dominic E. is representing Louisiana on the national stage TODAY in Washington, D.C. at the The Civic Trust® National Civics Bee!

Dominic began his journey at the Greater New Orleans Regional Civics Bee, hosted by the Jefferson Chamber Foundation, where he advanced to the Louisiana State Civics Bee, hosted by the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry - LABI Foundation. There, he was crowned State Champion, earning the opportunity to represent Louisiana at the national competition!

We’re proud to have played a part in Dominic’s journey and to help provide students with a platform to share their ideas and make a difference in their communities.
