The Jefferson Chamber’s Education & Workforce Development Committee recently visited Delgado Community College’s River City Site & Advanced Manufacturing Center for an inside look at the workforce training programs shaping our region’s future.

Committee members heard from Dr. Arlanda Williams, Vice Chancellor of Workforce Development & Executive Dean, who shared how Delgado is preparing students for high-demand careers through hands-on, real-world training. Following the presentation, Dr. Williams and her team led a tour of the campus, showcasing programs including Marine Diesel Mechanics, Instrumentation, Welding, and more.

Thank you to Dr. Williams and the Delgado team for highlighting the critical role workforce development plays in strengthening our local economy and creating career pathways for students across our region.

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the graduation of the Leadership Jefferson Class of 2026! 🎓👏

Over the past nine months, these outstanding leaders have dedicated themselves to learning, collaboration, and gaining a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges shaping Jefferson Parish. Through Leadership Jefferson, they have built meaningful connections, strengthened their leadership skills, and joined a distinguished network committed to making a lasting impact in our community.

Yesterday, the Jefferson Chamber Board of Directors gathered at the Yenni Building for its monthly board meeting, where Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng provided important updates on the current state of Jefferson Parish, ongoing initiatives, and the vision for where our community is headed.
