Give NOLA Day is May 5th but online giving is already underway!
Metairie Kittens is a small family run rescue that helps the cats of Metairie and New Orleans! You can find our Venmo on the mobile Venmo app.
We rescue neighborhood cats, rehabilitate them, and find them a home. In the last year, we found 250 cats a home, did more then 100 trap, neuter, release for feral cats, saved 2 cats with FIP which would die without treatment, and found homes for special needs kitties with cerebella hyperplasia, feline leukemia, eye ulcers, and a dislocated jaw to name a few examples. Litter and food at the rescue costs $150 a day and the vet bills accumulated to $28,000 last year. The owner feeds 300 community cats at 70 locations at $150 a night which takes more than 5 hours. These cats could resort to eating garbage or starving if not offered kibble or canned food once a day. Our feeder never misses a day rain or shine! These outside cats deserve our respect and love as members of our community.
In the post, we feature Angel. Angel had to get eye surgery and is all healed up and ready to go to her forever home! She runs around and plays for hours. She is very sweet! Without the rescue, she would have had a very tough life on the street with an injured eye. We help cats like her year-round.
