Crossroads Louisiana Crossroads is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving children and families in Louisiana.

Crossroads recruits, equips, and supports foster families from local churches and partners with organizations across Louisiana to elevate the services and systems that care for the most vulnerable through training and implementation of Trust-Based Relational Intervention®. Our mission is to connect children in crisis to the families, individuals, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our team is PUMPED about South Shore Connection Camp kicking off next week!

We'd love to have you join us in praying for camp this week:

- That children would feel seen, welcomed, and build genuine friendships with other kids and their 1:1 buddy!
- That volunteers would connect with children in ways that bring encouragement, joy, and care.
- That families leave more connected to one another after camp.

We're also sending an email to our Prayer Team tomorrow morning with additional ways to pray throughout the week. If you're not already on the team, sign up at crossroadsla.org/pray.

You'll receive specific prayer updates from camp, along with a copy of our Foster Care Prayer Guide.

All summer long, we’ll be sharing stories, highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and glimpses into the fun and helpful support happening through Crossroads.

FAMILY WEEKEND

Every year, our families step away from the busyness of everyday life and spend a weekend together at beautiful Fontainebleau State Park — surrounded by community, connection, and people who truly understand the journey.

Family Weekend is filled with:
- Games & activities
- S’mores around the fire
- Family movie night
- Time to rest and reconnect
- Respite opportunities for parents
- Community with other foster & adoptive families

But more than anything, it’s a reminder that no family walks this road alone.

There is something powerful about being in a space where kids feel understood, parents feel supported, and families can simply breathe together.

June 1 kicks off a season full of fun, connection, encouragement, and support at Crossroads — and we couldn’t be more excited!

This summer, we’ll be hosting TWO Connection Camps, special family events, and more — all designed to support foster families in meaningful and engaging ways. From laughter-filled gatherings to practical resources and moments of connection, every event is rooted in one important truth:

No family fosters alone.

At Crossroads, we believe families thrive when they feel supported, seen, and connected to community — and we’re honored to walk alongside the incredible foster families we serve.

All summer long, we’ll be sharing stories, highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and glimpses into the support, connection, and fun happening through Crossroads.

As we close out Foster Care Month, we have a special opportunity to pause, pray, and remember the children, families, and communities impacted by foster care.

At Crossroads, we believe prayer matters because people matter.

This month, we invite you to join us in praying each week for those who are carrying, serving, healing, and hoping.

Week 5: Systems Serving Kids

Pray for caseworkers, counselors, teachers, judges, CASA advocates, and agencies serving children.

- For wisdom and endurance
- For compassion in hard decisions
- For collaboration across systems
- For better outcomes for every child

Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Closing Prayer:
Lord, guide every person serving children and families through the foster care system. Give wisdom to leaders, compassion to workers, endurance to advocates, and clarity in hard decisions. Help systems work together so children can flourish. Amen.

In this training, you’ll learn practical, connection-based strategies to better understand behavior, build trust, and help children experience felt safety and healing.

At Crossroads, we know healing from trauma doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through safe, connected relationships with caring adults who learn to look beyond a child’s behavior and understand the needs underneath it.

That’s why we provide trauma-informed training and support for foster families, biological families, and the many adults walking alongside children and teens.

Because trauma-informed care changes the way we respond.

This role will help support our work to recruit, equip, and support foster families across the Northshore.

Many kids in foster care often carry relational trauma from the experiences they’ve endured.

Abuse.
Neglect.
Removal from their home.
Separation from siblings.
Uncertainty about what comes next.

These experiences leave a lasting impact.

What may look like “bad behavior” is often actually a trauma response - a behavior that helped a child survive what they experienced.

That’s why trauma-informed care matters so deeply.

At Crossroads, foster families receive training and ongoing support to help them understand the impact of trauma and respond with connection, compassion, and consistency.
