📢 Important Update for BadgerCare Plus Members

New federal requirements are expected to affect some adults enrolled in BadgerCare Plus (BC+) beginning in 2027.

Under the new law, some members ages 19–64 may need to meet certain requirements—such as working, attending school, participating in job training, or volunteering, to maintain their health care coverage.

For families of children with disabilities or complex medical needs, now may be a good time to explore with your CLTS Support & Service Coordinator whether your child qualifies for Medicaid through the Katie Beckett Program—and learn how BC+ members, and parents as caregivers to children with disabilities (of any age), may qualify for an exception to this new rule.

To help families and community members understand these upcoming changes, Wisconsin DHS will be hosting an informational webinar to discuss:

✅ Who may be affected
✅ Exemptions and special circumstances
✅ What activities may count toward the requirement
✅ Timelines and next steps
✅ Exemptions from the requirement (such as Katie Beckett)

Soft landing for Sensory Swim starts tomorrow morning! Every Friday from 10-noon. Reduced fee structure! Mead Pool Appleton

Here’s the description: Make a splash in a welcoming and relaxed environment! Sensory Swim provides individuals with special needs and their families the opportunity to enjoy Mead Pool during a quieter, less crowded time. With limited attendance and a sensory-friendly atmosphere, participants can swim, play, and have fun at their own pace. Space is limited!. We look forward to providing a fun and comfortable pool experience for all!

Hello Everyone,

This is a reminder that our Parent Support Group meeting is scheduled for TONIGHT, June 7th 2026, from 6pm-8pm at 211 E Franklin St, Appleton.

The meeting will be held at the NAMI/WisconSibs/SOAR building; please ring the bell for entry. We will be located in the basement to accommodate our growing group, and an elevator is available.

We are excited to offer an opportunity for parents of children, teens, and adults with autism to come together in a relaxed atmosphere and share resources, stories, and friendship. Grandparents and other caregivers are also welcome to attend.

Please note that this meeting is typically scheduled for the first Sunday of each month however we adjusted the schedule to accomodate the 4th of July. Our July meeting will take place on SUNDAY JUNE 28th!!!!!
