Thank you to New York Life Insurance Company for the generous Community Impact Grant which supports Connections Grief Center. Together, we can continue to provide hope and healing for youth and families. From family nights, to peer support groups, and community outreach, we are proud to offer a safe place for children, teens and their families to find compassionate support, engage in commemorative activities, gain information about the grieving process, and express feelings and experiences in an accepting environment. Thank you to New York Life for investing in grief support and helping ensure that no child or family has to navigate grief alone.

Hey friends…we have a phone! 🙌💙

We wanted to share a quick update from Connections Grief Center. Since the tornado, our main phone line at the Menasha Boys & Girls Club has been down. While we have continued providing programming, resources, and support to families throughout this time, we know the lack of phone coverage has made it harder to reach us.

We’re happy to say we now have a temporary solution! 🎉

💙 Free Family Resource Packets Available for Families Impacted by the Tornado 💙

As our community continues to recover, Connections Grief Center is here to support children, teens, and families navigating the emotional impact of the recent tornado.

We have assembled Family Resource Packets filled with trusted information, coping tools, and activities to help families process difficult experiences together.

Each packet includes:
🌪️ Age-appropriate resources for supporting children after a tornado
💙 Tips for caregivers on common reactions and ways to help
🎨 A coping activity book
🖍️ Crayons and calming activities for children
✨ Additional local and national support resources

These packets are available at no cost for families impacted by the tornado.

The Menasha Boys & Girls Club is currently serving as a community resource distribution site and place of support during ongoing recovery efforts, making it a convenient location for families to access these packets and other available resources.

💙 We Are Here for Our Community 💙

Our hearts are with everyone in our community who has been impacted by yesterday's storm and tornado. We know many families are navigating uncertainty, and we want you to know that you are not alone.

While the Menasha Boys & Girls Club location remains closed, Connections Grief Center will still be holding our regularly scheduled support groups tomorrow at the Neenah Boys & Girls Club for Club members who typically attend in Menasha.

Our Director, Erin Hollister, and Program Coordinator, Libby Kramer, had the opportunity to share the heart behind our recent transition from the Center for Grieving Children to Connections Grief Center and discuss how we support children, teens, and families navigating grief and life's many losses.

🤩BRAND NEW THIS SUMMER!🤩
We are offering a zine workshop for teens at the Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah Boys & Girls Club sites. We will be learning what zines are, different ways to make them, and making our own zines exploring the tough stuff that teens go through: changing schools, moving, friendship shifts, family changes, identity, loss, and other transitions. We will provide supplies and a snack. Registration is required, due to limited space. Scan the QR code on the flyer to register. Club membership is not necessary to attend.

Big feelings often come with big changes — and youth do not have to navigate them alone. 🌱

This summer, Connections Grief Center will again be offering Sprouts & Changes groups at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley in Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah.

Sprouts & Changes helps youth build coping skills, resilience, emotional awareness, and peer connection while navigating experiences of grief, loss, and life transitions. Groups include engaging activities, supportive discussion, and opportunities for youth to recognize that others “get it,” too.

Loss and change can take many forms, including:
🌿 Death of a loved one
🌿 Divorce or family changes
🌿 Moving or changing schools
🌿 Foster care or separation from family
🌿 Other significant life transitions

Groups are available for 3rd–6th grade youth attending Club summer programming.
