Aug. 18 would have been our annual Corporate Challenge event, a fun afternoon of volunteering and team building with local businesses. But when we made the difficult decision to cancel the event so our staff and nonprofit partners could remain focused on tornado recovery, our corporate sponsors and teams responded with grace. 💙💛

They showed us what it truly means to lead with generosity, flexibility, and heart. Not only did they allow us to redirect their sponsorship and team fees toward recovery efforts, but they also stepped up in other meaningful ways to support our community:
• Fox Communities Credit Union (Champion Sponsor) helped clear debris and sort wood at Heckrodt Wetland Reserve and committed a $250,000 1:1 matching gift for Tornado relief.
• Thrivent (Contender Sponsor) packed 9,000 kits for St. Joseph Food Program and YMCA of the Fox Cities, and pledged $500,000 to Tornado relief.
• 4imprint (Contender Sponsor) served meals, repaired fencing, assisted with debris removal at Heckrodt, supported residential cleanup, and partnered with Mercy Chefs.
• Menasha Corporation (Team) supported residential cleanup with Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity and pledged $1 million to Tornado recovery.
• U.S. Venture, Inc (Team) sponsored the Rock for Relief: Menasha Strong concert, and has pledged over $1 million to tornado relief efforts.

Your partnership helped us redirect energy and resources where they were needed most during a critical moment for our community. 🙏Thank you for trusting Volunteer Fox Cities, for remaining flexible, and for continuing to embody the spirit of Corporate Challenge even when the event could not happen as planned.

Corporate Challenge usually ends with one team taking home the title. This year, everyone who stepped up to support recovery is a winner!

Big thanks to the over 100 volunteers who showed up today to help their neighbors with raking and moving debris to the curb! 👏 These crews worked hard.

One of the volunteers shared, "We had one lady on Willow who was so distraught (house is red tagged and she was there trying to salvage what she could) and when I asked if we could clean up her yard, she was so appreciative. When we were done she was so happy since we had provided a small amount of normalcy amid all the destruction. The small things matter." 💙💛

We are still looking for many more volunteers throughout this week, especially for more resident cleanup support on Monday Aug. 24 on 9th through 15th Street.

Our community has been incredible in supporting tornado recovery 💛💙 (Keep those sign-ups coming!) Most volunteers are here to help, and we are deeply grateful for them.

Unfortunately, we've received a report of individuals falsely claiming to be volunteers causing concerns on private property. This is not entirely uncommon following a disaster.

Before allowing any volunteers onto your property:
• Ask what group they’re volunteering with.
• Most volunteer groups are affiliated with a nonprofit, service club, or church. Some local corporations are also sending out volunteer groups.
• If the group name is not familiar do a quick internet search for it.
• Never provide payment to any volunteer group, and be cautious with your sensitive personal information.

When in doubt, ask them to kindly leave your property - your safety comes first. Report suspicious activity to your local non-emergency police number.

Examples of legitimate volunteer groups that have been helping residents with their homes include but are not limited to:
• Volunteer Fox Cities
• Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity
• Team Rubicon
• Samaritan’s Purse/Alliance Church
• UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)
• Chainsaws for Christ
• Knights of Columbus

We're thrilled to share some exciting news! 🎉🎉

Volunteer Fox Cities has been selected as one of 40 local nonprofit organizations to receive a $10,000 general operating grant from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region in celebration of their 40th anniversary!

This flexible funding helps us support volunteer engagement across the region and continue bringing people together to spark meaningful change in the communities we serve.

We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region for their investment in local nonprofits and their ongoing commitment to building a stronger, more connected Fox Valley. Their support helps organizations like ours continue making a difference every day. ❤️

Alliance Church and Samaritan's Purse continue to seek volunteers to support tornado recovery efforts across our community.

Available Volunteer Times:
✅ Tuesday, Aug. 18 | 7:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.

✅ Thursday, Aug. 20 | 7:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.

No sign-up is required. If you're available to lend a hand, simply arrive at one of the listed times and the team will connect you with a project.
