We provide free clothing to all people in need. The Community Clothes Closet has been serving disadvantaged families since 1980.

Since that beginning, the Community Clothes Closet, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has been collecting and distributing clothing, blankets, towels and household items to people in need, who are referred by other social service agencies such as the St. Joseph’s Food Program, Leaven, and over 60 other human service agencies. Our clients are able to meet their clothing needs while using their limited income to meet other primary necessities such as food and shelter.

🚐 A little behind-the-scenes look at the Traveling Closet! 👕💙

Ever wonder what goes into preparing for a Traveling Closet distribution? It all starts right here!

This is where our team organizes and prepares clothing and essential items before loading up the van and heading out to meet people where they are. From making sure we have a variety of sizes and styles to preparing for each community's needs, there's a lot that happens behind the scenes to make every distribution possible.

Our Traveling Closet helps remove transportation barriers by bringing free clothing directly into the communities we serve. We currently travel to Chilton, Clintonville, Shawano, Oshkosh, Waupaca, and Berlin, helping individuals and families access clothing and essentials closer to home.

At every stop, our goal is the same: to provide free, high-quality clothing while making sure people can choose the items that best meet their needs. Because clothing is a basic need, and everyone deserves access to it with dignity and choice.

We're so grateful for the volunteers, donors, and community partners who help make this work possible. From preparing items to helping us reach communities across Northeastern Wisconsin, every part plays an important role! 💙

The moment you’ve all been waiting for… WE COLLECTED 920 PAJAMAS! 🎉💙

Thanks to our incredible Be a Pajama Hero donors and collection sites, we collected 920 pairs of pajamas to help keep our community cozy!

These pajamas will stock both our Shopping Floor and Traveling Closet, helping individuals and families access comfortable sleepwear at no cost. Because everyone deserves something cozy to slip into at the end of the day!

A HUGE thank-you to everyone who donated, hosted a collection drive, or helped spread the word. We couldn’t do this without you, and we’re so grateful for the way our community continues to show up for one another! 💙

Missed the collection deadline? No worries! We accept pajama donations all year long.

We’re feeling extra grateful and warm thanks to Johnson Financial Group! ❄️🧤

Their team recently wrapped up a winter clothing drive across four of their Northeastern Wisconsin branches in Green Bay, De Pere, Kohler, and Appleton, helping us stock our shelves with winter essentials for our community.

As temperatures drop, donations like these make a real difference in helping individuals and families access the warm clothing they need.

A behind-the-scenes look at Community Clothes Closet! 💙

Last week, we welcomed 70 community members to our Open House, with 25 volunteers, board members, and team members helping bring the experience to life!

From learning about our donation process to seeing how clothing makes its way into the hands of individuals and families, our guests got a closer look at what it takes to provide free clothing and essentials to our communities.

One of the best parts? Hearing how much the experience meant to those who attended. Guests shared that they learned things they hadn’t known before, were impressed by the scope of our work, and could see the passion and care our team and volunteers bring to serving others. We loved having the opportunity to share not only what we do, but the people and purpose behind it.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us, helped lead tours, shared their stories, and made the event possible. Your questions, encouragement, and feedback help us continue growing and finding ways to better serve our communities.

💙 Honoring the Legacy of Rosalie “Rose” Misco 💙

Some people see a need in their community and choose to do something about it. Rose Misco was one of those people.

It is with heartfelt gratitude that we honor the life and legacy of Rose Misco, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 88. Rose helped lay the foundation for what would become Community Clothes Closet, and her impact continues to touch lives across the Fox Valley nearly 50 years later.

In 1976, Rose spearheaded the creation of the Christian Clothes Closet at the Outagamie County Health Center, providing free clothing to individuals and families in need, including Vietnamese refugees resettling in Appleton. Her vision was rooted in a simple but powerful idea: people deserve access to clothing, regardless of their circumstances.

In 1980, Rose helped transition the program to a new group, paving the way for Community Clothes Closet to grow into the organization it is today.

Today, we provide free, high-quality clothing and essentials to thousands of individuals and families throughout our community. Every person who walks through our doors, every item shared, and every moment of dignity made possible is part of a legacy that began with people like Rose, who saw a need and took action.

While our organization has grown and evolved over the decades, the heart of our mission remains the same.

Rose, thank you for helping start something that has meant so much to so many. Your compassion, vision, and commitment to your community helped create a lasting impact that extends far beyond what one person could ever see in a lifetime.

Your legacy lives on in every person we serve. We are honored to continue the work you helped begin.

Our thoughts are with Rose’s family and loved ones as they remember a life that made a difference.

Rest peacefully, Rose. And thank you. 💙
