Community Clothes Closet

Community Clothes Closet We provide free clothing to all people in need. The Community Clothes Closet has been serving disadvantaged families since 1980.

Since that beginning, the Community Clothes Closet, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has been collecting and distributing clothing, blankets, towels and household items to people in need, who are referred by other social service agencies such as the St. Joseph’s Food Program, Leaven, and over 60 other human service agencies. Our clients are able to meet their clothing needs while using their limited income to meet other primary necessities such as food and shelter.

A BIG DAY FOR CLOTHING INSECURITY AWARENESS. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to share that Governor Tony Evers has officially proclaimed September 15 as National Clothing Insecurity Awareness Day in Wisconsin.

This is an important step in recognizing something we see every day at Community Clothes Closet: clothing is a basic need.

And on September 15, this conversation is going national.

Join our very own Development Director, Karissa Buck, and clothing-bank leaders from across the country for a national virtual forum moderated by CNN anchor and national correspondent Erica Hill:

“The Missing Basic Need: What Clothing Insecurity Reveals About America’s Affordability Crisis”

📅 Tuesday, September 15
⏰ 1:00–2:00 p.m. CST

A huge thank you to Note in the Pocket and The Sharing Shelf for including Community Clothes Closet in this important conversation and for creating space for clothing-bank leaders to share what we’re seeing in our communities.

The forum will explore new national data, the growing demand for clothing assistance, and the difficult choices families are making every day.

Because this is about more than clothes.
It’s about dignity. Opportunity. School participation. And what families are forced to sacrifice simply to make ends meet.

We’re honored to help bring the reality of clothing insecurity in our communities to a national audience.

This week we are so thankful for The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation for volunteering with us!
Since 1928 they have helped build a stronger community where everyone has an opportunity to thrive.
After learning about the need after the tornado, they reached out to us with a desire to help. Their partnership was instrumental in helping us launch the Traveling Closet and bringing this resource directly to Oshkosh. From the very beginning, their support, collaboration, and commitment helped turn the vision of the Traveling Closet into a reality, and we are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact of that partnership.
If your company/organization would like a tour or want to volunteer please reach out to Stacey West our Volunteer Engagement Supervisor by email or phone. [email protected] or (920) 200-3074

Meet the people behind Community Clothes Closet. ❤️

We’re not just a clothing closet. We’re a community.

Behind every clothing rack, every shopping appointment and every bag that leaves our doors are people who care deeply about making sure our neighbors have what they need.

Our staff, volunteers, board members, and community partners are the heart of what we do. They sort, organize, serve, advocate, connect, donate and show up - day after day.

Together, we’re creating a place where people can access clothing and essentials with dignity and without judgment.

Today, we’re celebrating just a few of the incredible people who make CCC possible.

Weeks and months after a disaster, families are still rebuilding — replacing what was lost, finding stability, and trying to move forward.

And while the immediate emergency may be over, the need doesn’t disappear.

Families continue to need clothing, shoes, household essentials and everyday items as they rebuild their lives.

At Community Clothes Closet, we’re still here. Still serving. Still helping our neighbors navigate what comes next.

Because recovery isn’t just about getting through the first few days.

It’s about being there for the long road back.

If you’re able, your support helps us continue meeting those needs.

YOUR GIFT CAN GO TWICE AS FAR. 💙

For the past two weeks, we’ve been talking about why clothing insecurity matters and what it means when someone doesn’t have access to the clothing and essentials they need.

Now, it’s time to meet the need.

Thanks to On the Mark Solutions LLC, every donation made through September 15 can be DOUBLED up to $5,000.

That means:

$25 → $50
$50 → $100
$100 → $200

Your gift can help provide free clothing and essential items to a child heading back to school, a parent preparing for work, or a neighbor simply trying to make ends meet.

We want to unlock every dollar of this $5,000 match, and we need your help to do it.

Give today. Double your impact. Help meet a basic need. ❤️
