Today was a beautiful reminder that we are never alone on this journey.

Our Memphis Lupus Support Group came together for an open and honest conversation about Mental Health & Lupus—creating a safe space to talk, laugh, listen, share, and remind one another that our mental health matters just as much as our physical health. 💜

A HUGE thank you to our amazing speaker, Dr. Terrance Pryor, for pouring into our group, sharing wisdom, and helping us have meaningful conversations about taking care of our whole selves. Your time and heart are truly appreciated! 🙏🏽💜

And today we have another reason to celebrate!

Please help us wish our wonderful Board Member, Ms. Jackie Borrum, a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎂🥳💐

Jackie, thank you for your dedication, love, and continued support of the Memphis Lupus Support Group. We hope your special day is filled with love, joy, and everything you deserve! 💜🦋

Remember: You don't have to go through lupus alone. There is strength in community, healing in conversation, and power in knowing that someone understands.

💜 YOUR MIND MATTERS TOO! 💜

Living with lupus is more than managing physical symptoms. The emotional and mental health challenges can be just as real—and sometimes just as difficult to see. 🦋

Join the Memphis Lupus Support Group for an important and uplifting conversation about MENTAL HEALTH & LUPUS. We’ll talk about the emotional side of living with lupus, coping strategies, self-care, finding support, and ways to protect your mental well-being while navigating chronic illness.

✨ Come as you are. ✨ Bring your questions. ✨ Share your story—or simply listen. ✨ Leave encouraged and reminded that you are NOT alone.

Living with lupus means learning that your social battery has limits—and that's okay. 💜

Sometimes you genuinely want to go out, spend time with family, attend church, support your friends, or enjoy a good event… but your body has other plans. 😩

Lupus fatigue isn't always visible, and needing to rest doesn't mean you're being antisocial, unreliable, or “flaky.” Sometimes protecting your energy is one of the most important ways you can take care of yourself.

So here are 8 things every lupus patient should know about their social battery. 💜
Swipe through, save this post, and share it with someone who may need the reminder.

And to our fellow lupus warriors: you don't have to feel guilty for choosing rest. Your body gets a vote, too.

💜 Rest is not selfish. Boundaries are not rejection. And protecting your peace is not something you need to apologize for.

💜 Remember: Mental health symptoms are just as real as physical symptoms. If you or someone you know with lupus is experiencing persistent depression, anxiety, or thoughts of self-harm, seek help from a healthcare provider or mental health professional. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
