Yesterday, SGT McCoy met a man by the name of Dan Williams, age:57, sitting in front of Wendy's in Horn Lake. He was down on his luck and was hungry. SGT McCoy walked him inside and offered to buy the man lunch. The Wendy's Management would not let the deputy pay, because they covered Mr. Williams' meal instead!
SGT McCoy sat down and ate lunch with Mr. Williams. He found out that Mr. Williams had no money or phone and has been catching rides from Ohio in an attempt to get down to Monroe, Louisiana to be with family.
SGT McCoy could tell that Mr. Williams had a good heart and wanted to help him, so he got with Deputies Brea, Garrett, and Andrews. They all pulled money out of their own pockets and pitched in to buy Mr. Williams an $89.00 Greyhound bus ticket to get home, along with an additional $60.00 for some food and necessities. SGT McCoy later said that Mr. Williams broke down and cried as he was dropping him off at the bus station in Memphis, TN. Mr. Williams looked over to SGT McCoy and told him, "Out of all of the people that reached out to help me in my time of need, it was the cops. Thank you!!"
This is not a one time incident....These random acts of kindness happen everyday across this county and our nation with law enforcement officers reaching out to help those in need, but most of these good deeds go unnoticed because that's our job and that's what we do. We are proud to protect and serve you!

In addition to creating personalized works of art out of his garage, Jeff works a full-time job. When he had some extra cash, he decided to splurge by taking his truck to the car wash. There, Jeff noticed a woman standing by her car, crying and wiping the tears from her eyes. Jeff approached her...…

Ok my friends. What are you doing to make a difference? Giving some food to a homeless person? Helping someone financially that is struggling? Mentoring someone? Holding a door or helping someone carry groceries?
It doesn't always take money or alot of time but is always purposeful. Remember what is expected of you as a Christian, a Mason and a person. Get out there and let your light shine Brothers and Sisters.

Just a little community love from my Unit.

The 164th Airlift Wing out of Memphis came together to help their local community. Servicemembers donated pantry items for the FedEx House, an organization that provides accomodations for families that have a child at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. Thank you Betty Gaskins, 164th Airlift Wing Airman & Family Readiness Program Manager, for sharing this story. We salute you and the 164th for supporting your local community!

I love Christmas time! You do things for people all year but when you do it for them at this time of year it brings them to their knees with tears in their eyes. I was in line at the Dollar Tree and told the cashier to scan the items of the person behind me and I would pay. I was very quiet about it but some overheard and were suprised. It suprised me that others never thought to do something like this. It was the best $5.00 I have ever spent.

I have been asked to post this for a Brother that wishes to remain anonymous. Great job!

I had the pleasure of making a Cop cry this morning. On my way to work, I saw an officer sitting on the side of Poplar Ave looking for speeders. After seeing all the abuse that our Police Officers are having to put up with right now, and knowing that I have a stack of RAK cards in my pocket, I decided to make today "Do Something Nice For A Cop Day". I stopped at the first gas station I saw and bought that officer two bottles of water, a bag of M&M's, a pack of gum, and (of course) a box of donuts. I went back to where he was sitting and stopped in front of his car. I got out and, keeping my hands in plain sight, walked back to his car. He asked me what he could do for me and I said, "I keep seeing on FOX News the protests and chants about how bad the cops are. It offends me how people are treating you, so I wanted to do something nice for you today. Here is a little something for you from my Brothers at the local Masonic Lodge. We want you to know that we Love and Appreciate you, and I hope you have a safe day." I handed him the bag of goodies and the RAK card from the Lodge. With a tear rolling down his face, he said "Thanks so much." I replied that I was proud of him and everyone who puts on a uniform to go to work. Now, with a tear on both sides of his face, and with a serious crack in his voice, al he could say was, "I really appreciate that. Thanks!" I turned around and returned to my car and continued to my office, proud to be an American, Proud to be a Mason, and Proud of my Lodge for supporting such a program. I encourage every brother who reads this to help me celebrate "Do Something Nice For A Cop Day."
