Waxhaw Woodturners The Waxhaw Woodturners is a AAW chartered woodturning club in the Charlotte NC area that promotes the art of woodturning. Visitors are always welcome!

Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the McDowell Arts Center in Matthews NC.

Hello woodturners!

Here's a quick reminder of the Waxhaw Woodturner's August Meeting tomorrow evening. As usual, social time will start at 6:00 pm with the meeting/demonstration beginning at 6:30 pm. Since this is our August meeting, we will not be getting together in the lower level of the McDowell Arts Center where we usually meet. Instead, we will be across the street in the Matthews Community Center (100 E McDowell St, Matthews, NC 28105). Just stop in at the front desk to get directions to our room.

For our August meeting, we have been fortunate enough to be able to schedule international woodturning artist Pat Carroll for an interactive remote demonstration on turning a long stem natural edge bowl. Pat, who has been a woodturner since 2001, has been recognized by both his peers and other artists over the years for his work, demonstrations and award winning pieces. With his work in collections across the world, Pat has also contributed many articles to the Woodturning UK magazine and also runs a virtual meeting called “Meet the Woodturner”, where artists from all over the world are interviewed to get a fascinating insight into their woodturning lives and careers.
