We’re grateful to share our 2026 Giving Campaign recap.

In just 4 hours and 20 minutes, Charlotte Chinese Story Time reached our original $12,000 goal. By the end of the 24-hour campaign, CCST had raised $14,253 to support free Chinese language and cultural programs for children and families in Greater Charlotte.

This campaign was more than a fundraiser. It was a powerful reminder that our community believes in this work and wants to see it continue.

From June 6 at 1:00 PM to June 7 at 1:00 PM, we will launch our first 24-hour matching campaign to help us continue offering FREE Chinese language and cultural programs for children and families in our community.

For one day only, every gift will be quadrupled:

We are proud to officially share the Charlotte Chinese Story Time promotional video.

For many families, language is more than words.
It is culture.
It is identity.
It is belonging.

Charlotte Chinese Story Time was founded with a simple but powerful vision: to create meaningful Chinese language and cultural experiences for children and families in our local community.

From monthly story times and cultural celebrations to hands-on art workshops, the Charlotte Cup Chinese Recitation Contest, and our annual Children’s Lunar New Year Showcase, CCST provides opportunities for children to learn, express themselves, connect with their heritage, and shine.

We believe access to language and culture should never depend on a family’s ability to pay. That is why all of our programs are offered free of charge — from small monthly gatherings to large-scale community events.

This video is more than a reflection of what we do. It is a celebration of the children, families, volunteers, donors, educators, and community partners who have helped build Charlotte Chinese Story Time into what it is today.

What an unforgettable first experience at the Dragon Boat Festival!

This year marked the very first time that Charlotte Chinese Story Time joined the Dragon Boat Festival celebration, and we were overwhelmed by the love and support from the community.

Our booth was filled with traditional Chinese cultural activities and handmade creations:
➡️DIY Dragon Boat Festival sachets
➡️Our giant panda joined the cultural parade and became a festival favorite
➡️Personalized Chinese names written in calligraphy scrolls
➡️Dragon boat lantern crafts
➡️Chinese rubbing art & lacquer fan painting
➡️Traditional Chinese-inspired cultural gifts and handmade items

Throughout the day, families and children stopped by to explore, create, and experience Chinese culture in such a joyful and meaningful way. Seeing so many smiling faces at our booth truly reminded us why we do what we do — bringing language, culture, and community together.

A heartfelt thank you to the Carolina Asian American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC) Carolinas Asian-American Chamber of Commerce for organizing such a vibrant and welcoming event for the community. We are honored to have been part of it.

And yes… we’re already looking forward to coming back next year. ❤️

Congratulations to All Winners of the 2nd “Charlotte Cup” Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest!

Charlotte Chinese Story Time is proud to announce the Grand Final award winners of this year’s Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest.

This year, we were deeply inspired by every young participant who stepped onto the stage with confidence, courage, and love for the Chinese language. From beautiful pronunciation to expressive delivery, each child brought poetry to life in their own unique way.

Countdown: 1 day to go!

Tomorrow is the Grand Final of the 2nd Charlotte Cup Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest — and we can’t wait to see our young finalists take the stage.

From 168 participating families to 70 finalists, this journey has been filled with hard work, courage, dedication, and love for the Chinese language. Tomorrow, these children will step onto the stage and share the results of all their preparation, passion, and perseverance.

This is more than a competition.
It is a celebration of language, culture, confidence, and community.

We warmly invite our families, friends, teachers, and community members to join us and cheer on these incredible young voices.
