Our Heritage & Harvest event is officially sold out! 🥃🤩

We’re looking forward to a special evening on November 4! Head Distiller Nick Smith from Bardstown Bourbon Company will be joining us to share the stories and craftsmanship behind each pour.

From specialty bourbon cocktails to a four course paired dinner, it’s going to be a wonderful evening of great food, bourbon, and connection, all in support of Thompson’s work with children and families.

Last Friday, we unveiled a new mini pitch at our residential campus, bringing an exciting new space for our kids to enjoy! ⚽💜

This new space gives children a place to get outside, enjoy the game, and build connections. With lighting that extends the hours the field can be used, our kids can enjoy more time on the pitch, even as the sun goes down. It’s a great way to encourage physical activity, teamwork, and time spent together.

We’re so thankful to Duke Energy, Daimler Truck, and Charlotte FC for their support in making this possible. Thank you for investing in our kids and helping bring this project to Thompson!

Last week, we had a fun fall fest with Friends of the Children! 🍂 It was a great afternoon filled with games, activities, and time spent with the kids and their mentors.

Amari and Imoni’s story shows how meaningful it can be to have someone in your corner as you grow. 💜

Amari continues to find her way with the support of a mentor who has been there through the ups and downs. Their connection is a great example of what Friends of the Children Charlotte is all about: building relationships that give children someone to turn to as they navigate life and discover who they want to become!

Through the program, professional mentors make a long-term commitment to the children they serve, offering steady support as they move through different stages of life.

That kind of commitment helps create space for children to build confidence, recognize their potential, and imagine what’s possible for their future.
