June is Men’s Mental Health Month - a time to raise awareness, break the stigma, and encourage open conversations about mental well-being.

Men often face pressure to stay strong, stay silent, and handle challenges alone. But mental health struggles are real, and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

This month, let’s support the men in our lives by checking in, listening without judgment, and reminding them that they don’t have to carry everything on their own.
Your mental health matters. Your voice matters.

It's OK to ask for help.

It's OK to talk about how you're feeling.

It's OK to take care of your mental health.

Many men grow up hearing messages that encourage them to handle challenges on their own. But strength isn't about carrying everything by yourself.

Support, connection, and reaching out are signs of courage.

This Men's Mental Health Month, let's help create a culture where it's OK to talk.

Research shows that men are far less likely to seek the needed help and support. It is time to make having a conversation about men's mental health as easy as talking to a friend. Here are some men you may have heard of sharing their experiences and challenging the stigma around men’s mental health. >>> https://www.dosomething.org/.../famous-men-get-real-about...

It’s never too early to be aware and start learning

Mental health support starts early.

50% of all mental health conditions begin by age 14—and 75% by age 24. That’s why building mental health literacy in childhood and adolescence is key to lifelong well-being.

Whether you're a young person navigating big emotions, a parent trying to support your child, or a teacher or caregiver looking for tools—you’re not alone.

Feeling overwhelmed? Start with what you can control.
When life feels chaotic, it’s easy to focus on everything going wrong. But sometimes, protecting your mental health starts with small, intentional steps: setting boundaries, practicing healthy coping skills, speaking kindly to yourself, asking for help, and taking care of your body.
You don’t have to control everything — just focus on what supports you.
At NAMI Northern Virginia, we believe small steps toward wellness matter. What’s one thing you can focus on today?
