This weekend was our Region 2 Fall Regional Conference in Raleigh, NC. On yesterday we had a full day of competitions, workshops mixed in with a lil bit of fun and the FRC closing banquet. Our chapter won the following competitions:

- First place in Try-Math-A-Lon lower division our team member was Brennen Hodge.

- Third place MathCounts lower division our team members were Riley Moore and Destiny Richmond.

- First place in Ten80 scrimmage racing in attendance Josiah Law, CJ Martin, Destiny Richmond, Riley Moore, Alyssa Williams and Keegan Redd.

Great PCI trip to VA Tech on October 15th with our NSBE students. They learned about Building bridges by doing a bridge challenge, learned about water towers by doing a water tower challenge and they learned about wind turbines.

Great PCI trip to Virginia Tech with our Martinsville Henry County NSBE students and students from Albert Harris. They had a day of learning about mining engineering, material engineering and learning to make ice cream and a few other things.

Congratulations to Helen Howell for receiving the Gary Dickinson Award for Teaching Excellence! Awarded by the SAE Foundation, this special distinction recognizes an outstanding middle school teacher who has made creative and exemplary use of the A World In Motion ® (AWIM ®) program to develop students’ understanding of a math, science, and engineering.

Ms. Howell is a shining light for our community and all students in Martinsville and Henry County. We are so proud of you!

Great day at NSBE PCI at Virginia Tech on Saturday!!! The students learned about Mining Engineeing and became Eggstronaughts!! Dropped an egg off of a 3 or more story building. No eggs were harmed and all eggs made it with no cracks🤣🤣!
