Last week’s EPSHRM Summer of Learning session was all about purpose, values, and understanding how we show up as leaders, and what a fantastic way to close out our summer series!
A huge thank you to Kelly Lippenholz for leading such an engaging and interactive conversation on The Power of Purpose. Kelly challenged us to think beyond simply identifying our values and really consider how those values influence the way we lead, communicate, make decisions, and connect with others.
And we didn’t just talk about it. We put it into practice!
Using the Maxwell Leadership Value Cards, attendees narrowed down the values that matter most to them personally and professionally. It was fascinating to see the different values represented throughout the room and hear the conversations that came from understanding why we value what we do.
Kelly also brought DISC to life by getting us out of our seats and moving around the room based on where we saw ourselves within the different DISC styles. It sparked some great conversations about how we work, how we communicate, what we appreciate from others, and how understanding those differences can make us stronger leaders and teammates.
We also loved hearing about Kelly’s unique career journey and the experiences that have shaped her own approach to leadership and purpose. It was a great reminder that our career paths do not always have to be linear to lead us exactly where we are meant to be.
Thank you, Kelly, for bringing your energy, expertise, and openness to EPSHRM and for creating a session where our members could learn, reflect, move, laugh, and connect with one another.
And thank you to everyone who joined us for our final Summer of Learning session! We hope you walked away knowing a little more about your own values and the kind of leader you want to be.
