Being a paranormal investigator is more than just the investigation. Cases are like a full time job. There are hours of research, interviews, equipment preparation, planning, documenting, the many hours of the investigation itself, reviewing data, compiling theories, hypothesizing, investigation several more times, forming conclusions, testing those conclusions, validating data, and finally working closely with the client to make them safe in their home. In most cases clients just want to feel comfortable again and a Paranormal Investigator's primary goal is to make that happen as professionally and honestly as possible. We can't form any conclusions without really investigating any claims that the client may have however we can form educated or experienced opinions on what a client is telling us but we cannot with any certainty make statements without bias. You see our goal is to validate claims. It's to find solutions, if that means that you are able to recreate a potential experience with faulty wiring or electronic malfunction, that's what needs to happen. Client's also need to be open to the possibility that there is nothing paranormal in their home or that we can explain what happened. If any paranormal investigator you bring in immediately labels your potential haunting as "demonic" or "evil" before they investigate, don't walk, run away. It takes extensive research and investigation to document these types of cases; and they are rare. Spirits are what they were in life in most cases. They can be friendly, they can be mischievous, and they can be not so friendly. Spirits manifest themselves in various ways and quite possibly may not know what they are doing. Please if you plan to investigate, are an investigator, or want to have a team do an investigation in your home; make sure the homework is done. Make sure that the correct steps are made. Real cases aren't like what you see on TV....
