Join Our Program Team: No Food Wasted!

Our No Food Wasted Program helps Loving Hearts B.E.A.R. Closet provide food to children, families, and neighbors facing hard times. With food insecurity affecting more people, we’re committed to serving children first while continuing to support the whole community.

Every Friday, we fill Hungry Cub Meals for children. We also prepare a free community meal to share with our neighbors.

Last week, we served 227 children, and this past Wednesday, we provided 201 to-go meals. These growing numbers reflect the increasing struggles families are facing—and the importance of working together to keep food on the table.

We can’t forget these wonderful volunteers who helped make our 8th Annual Event in October such an eventful and joy-filled day! Your time, hard work, and caring hearts helped create special memories for the children and families in our community. We appreciate every one of you so much! 💛🐻

🥕 Free Groceries in McDowell County — Including a Church-Based Distribution

Foothills Food Hub has confirmed several upcoming free grocery distributions.

The next two are:

* Monday, November 9: Old Fort drive-through distribution, 2–3:30 p.m.
* Tuesday, November 10: Jacktown distribution, 608 Jacktown Road, Marion, 1–2 p.m.

A particularly useful event later this month is the Choice Distribution on Friday, November 27, from 1–2 p.m., hosted at Marion First Free Will Baptist Church.

Families can select groceries, including available fresh seasonal food, at no charge. Distribution is first come, first served while supplies last.
