How does the Live Like Megan Foundation help fight substance abuse?
We fight it by supporting the children and families who are often living with its consequences.
🌼 We provide a safe, welcoming place for children entering foster care—many of whom enter care because substance use has affected their families.
🌼 We support kinship caregivers—grandparents, aunts, uncles and relatives who may suddenly find themselves raising children because a parent is struggling with addiction.
🌼 We provide beds, clothing, car seats, cribs and other necessities so families can focus on providing stability instead of worrying about how they will afford the basics.
🌼 We support foster families caring for children who may have experienced trauma, instability or neglect related to substance use.
🌼 We provide a safe place for family visitation, helping parents and children maintain and rebuild relationships while families work toward reunification.
🌼 And we’re working to expand support for parents who are doing the hard work required to overcome the circumstances that brought their children into care and safely reunify their families.
Fighting substance abuse isn’t only about addressing addiction. It’s also about strengthening families, protecting children, breaking cycles of trauma and giving people the support they need to build a different future.
