We would like to introduce Tawny Freel. Tawny will be singing the National Anthem at The Cook'n with the Blue - Jambalaya Cook Of on November 1, 2026 at the Mandeville Trailhead.

Tawny moved to the MS Gulf Coast 6 years ago from the upper Peninsula of Michigan with her husband and son. Prior to the move, she spent 5 years as a Corrections Deputy for Chippewa County Sheriff Office. For the past 5.5 years, she has worked as a case manager for the 2nd Circuit Intervention Court for Harrison, Hancock and Stone County.

We cannot wait to see everyone November 1st !!

The U.S. Marshals Service sadly confirms that a Deputy U.S. Marshal in the Western District of Louisiana was shot and killed today while serving an arrest warrant on a fugitive in Alexandria, La.

The incident involved the U.S. Marshals, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, and Alexandria Police.

The suspect is in custody.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are handling the investigation.
