We are so excited to have Lollipops Marching Group, Slidell Synch, and the Louisiana Ladies marching with us in Krewe Du Pooch 2027 again! These groups always bring so much joy to the parade route and we are thankful to have them back.

We are saddened to hear of Queen Minnie’s passing. We are thinking of all of our friends at Adventure Pets - Mandeville LA and missing her sweet face dearly!

This Fourth of July, help keep your pets safe by bringing them indoors, creating a quiet place where they can relax, and making sure their ID tags and microchip information are up to date. A little preparation can make all the difference if loud celebrations leave them feeling anxious.

Krewe du Pooch is looking for fellow dog lovers to join our team and help support local rescue organizations through one of the Northshore’s most beloved events!

We currently have openings on our Decoration Committee and Fundraising Committee. Whether you enjoy getting creative with event décor, helping transform the parade grounds, building community partnerships, or securing sponsorships that help local rescue dogs, we’d love to have you involved.

This is a great opportunity to meet other passionate dog lovers, support local rescue efforts, and help make Krewe du Pooch bigger and better each year. 🐶✨

We’re thrilled to share that Northshore Humane Society had 11 adoptions at this year’s Krewe du Pooch!

Nothing makes us happier than seeing rescue dogs find loving forever homes, and we’re so proud to have played a small part in helping these pups start their next chapter. Congratulations to the entire Northshore Humane Society team for their incredible work!

Don’t forget to support NHS again at on Saturday, September 27 at the Castine Center in Mandeville. Enjoy local breweries, a home brewing competition, food trucks, vendors, and of course, plenty of opportunities to support Northshore Humane Society and their mission. Who knows, you might even meet your new best friend! 🐕✨

☀️🐾 Summer fun is better when pets stay safe! 🐾☀️
Warmer weather means more outdoor adventures, but it can also bring an increase in summertime pet emergencies. 🌡️🐶🐱

Here are a few common warm-weather dangers to watch for:
🔥 Heatstroke & overheating
🚗 Hot cars (even for a few minutes!)
🐾 Burned paw pads on hot pavement
🦟 Fleas, ticks & mosquitoes
💧 Dehydration
🌽 BBQ foods and summer treats that aren’t pet-safe

Signs your pet may be overheating can include:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Weakness or stumbling
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Bright red gums

If your pet ever seems distressed or overheated, contact your veterinarian right away. 🩺💙
A little extra caution can help keep summer safe, fun, and full of tail wags! 🌴🐾

We love Dr. Ledet and Mandeville Animal Hospital!

While many know Dr. Liza for caring for puppies, kittens, and beloved family pets, she also feels it is her calling and responsibility to advocate for the wellbeing and safety of all animals, including local wildlife. Living alongside wildlife comes with responsibility, and simple precautions like supervising pets outdoors, securing food sources, and staying alert can make a big difference for both pets and native animals.

As coyote sightings continue across the Northshore, it is important for pet owners and the community to stay informed and aware. Proud to see Dr. Liza Ledet DiTommaso featured in the conversation about the need for education, safety, and a thoughtful approach to wildlife management.
