In advancing this recommendation, the Committee highlights Yee’s background as a Marathon County Supervisor, former nonprofit executive, and (if elected) the first Hmong American to hold statewide office. His key priorities include protecting and growing the Common School Fund, supporting low-interest trust fund loans for communities, increasing transparency and accountability in public finances, expanding financial literacy, and helping families secure unclaimed property.

His blend of community leadership, non-profit management, and local government service positions him well for statewide office as Wisconsin’s Treasurer.

In advancing this recommendation, the Committee highlights JoCasta’s background as the first Latina and first openly bis*xual member of both the Wisconsin Legislature and the Milwaukee Common Council. She has championed affordable housing, small business licensing reform, community development, and public school funding. In 2024, she led the Housing Element Plan to address Milwaukee’s housing crisis.

Ms. Zamarripa is running as a Democrat for Wisconsin Secretary of State, aiming to secure more funding for Wisconsin’s public schools, housing relief, and affordable childcare.

In advancing this recommendation, the Committee highlights that Kaul ruled in favor of UW Hospital nurses’ rights to organize to form a Union, he defended science and advocated for common-sense COVID-19 policies, and he joined a coalition of six attorneys general in a lawsuit against U.S. Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ unlawful attempt to siphon pandemic relief funds away from K-12 public schools.

Kaul’s educational priorities are “making our schools safer, including supporting common-sense gun-safety measures, ensuring our public schools have the resources they need to be successful, and increasing funding for mental health programs in schools.”

He is a member of the Madison Community and a parent of two children who attend MMSD schools. Kaul understands the importance of the intersection of public schools and public safety. In advancing this recommendation, the Committee highlights Godlewski’s commitment to public service, as she currently serves as Wisconsin’s Secretary of State, previously served as State Treasurer, and is a candidate for Lt. Governor. Sarah is a fifth-generation Wisconsinite. Her parents were both public school teachers, which influenced her drive to serve the public.

As Secretary of State, Sarah made a record-breaking $65M distribution to the Common School Fund in 2024. She also implemented a modernization program for the Secretary of State’s office to improve service delivery and increase transparency. .godlewski

In advancing this recommendation, the Committee highlights his experience serving as a former Wisconsin state Assembly Representative and the current Milwaukee County Executive. He is the first African American to serve as Milwaukee County Executive and the youngest person ever elected to the role. In this role, he has delivered real results: investing in good-paying jobs and small businesses, cutting Milwaukee County’s carbon emissions in half, reducing opioid deaths by 30%, expanding mental health services, and working to ensure economic recovery reaches every corner of our state.

He is committed to fully funding public education, addressing student mental health services, and ensuring teachers’ voices are heard. When asked how his role as Governor related to public school funding and what changes he would make, Crowley states:

“As Governor, I will work with education stakeholders to modernize our school funding formula by incorporating student-centered weights, including additional funding for students living in poverty, English learners, and students with disabilities.
