💚 Member Monday 💚

PSW members in the Fox Valley recently gathered for an inaugural local meet-up, creating space for pharmacists to connect, share ideas, and strengthen relationships close to home.

Thank you to Carmen Gust for helping bring this group together, and to everyone who joined for an evening of conversation and connection. The Fox Valley has an incredible pharmacy community, and PSW is excited to see these local connections continue to grow.

Here’s to building community, one conversation at a time.

Coach Spotlight: Lizzy Braun

Lizzy is coaching three Forward Pharmacy locations near Madison and is passionate about helping pharmacies build sustainable clinical services that expand patient access to pharmacist care.

After several years in independent pharmacy and completing a community pharmacy residency in 2024, she is excited to help develop processes that create new ways for patients to connect with their pharmacists while also supporting payment for pharmacists’ time and services.

Lizzy’s goal has always been to become an innovative community pharmacist and provide high-quality, accessible care for her community, and the CPF Coaching Transformation Grant is helping bring that work to life.

Outside of pharmacy, Lizzy enjoys reading, visiting national parks, and caring for her many houseplants.

Medical billing doesn’t have to be a mystery.

As pharmacy teams expand patient care services, understanding Medicaid billing pathways and reimbursement strategies is more important than ever. PSW’s free Billing Code Guide helps break down key topics like pharmacist billing, facility fee guidance, and alternatives to traditional “incident-to” billing structures.

💚 Member Monday 💚
PSW CEO Sarah Sorum visited Sawyer Street Hometown Pharmacy in Oshkosh and met owner JJ Allen and the team. In a short visit, Sarah saw personalized patient care in action, including the pharmacy’s continued growth in compounding services and their collaboration with local healthcare providers to help fill care gaps.

A favorite detail from the visit was the wall of staff photos featuring families and pets, a simple reminder that community pharmacy is powered by people who know and care for their neighbors.

Thank you to JJ and the Sawyer Street team, and to Hometown Pharmacy owners who support PSW through membership. You make a difference.

🎙️ One Voice One Vision: Episode 2 is now available

How did the vision for a unified pharmacy organization in Wisconsin become a reality?

Episode 2 of PSW’s One Voice One Vision podcast series explores the milestones that helped turn a bold idea into the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.

Featuring Tom Thielke, John Bohlman, and Andy Peterson, PSW’s first president, this episode looks back on the work of the OVOV steering committee, the statewide conversations that engaged members across Wisconsin, and the 1997 member vote that overwhelmingly supported unification.

It is a meaningful look at the leadership, collaboration, and shared commitment that helped launch PSW in 1998 and strengthen pharmacy’s professional voice in Wisconsin.
