Ainsley's Angels in Wisconsin

This weekend at the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, our Angel rider Dewayne completed the "Own the Hoan" Challenge! On Saturday morning he did the 5K with his runner Josh, and on Sunday morning he did the Half Marathon with his runners Chris, Ruth, and Jess! 👩‍🦽🏃‍♀️💗🪽 The Hoan Memorial Bridge is a 1.5 mile bridge with six lanes of Interstate 794 over the Milwaukee River! Josh also ran the half marathon this morning on behalf of AFSP Wisconsin (American Foundation for Su***de Prevention). CONGRATS to our runners and Team Dewayne! 😎☀️ It was a beautiful weekend!

Another beautiful morning to roll together and celebrate inclusion! 😎☀️

Today, Sunday 9/27, we participated in the Henry Vilas Zoo Run Wild, with two teams taking on the 10K and four teams tackling the 5K. This was our 6th year in a row at this incredible event! 👩‍🦽🏃‍♀️💗🪽

We are so grateful to the Zoo Run for inviting and including us every single year. This event is extra special to us as this was our first race in Madison after Ainsley's sister Briley Rossiter started this Ambassadorship in 2021. In fact, Liam who was our Ambassadorship's very first Angel rider, is wearing Ainsley's and Briley's grandfather's jacket in the first 2 photos! 😍🥹

We were invited to participate in the Waisman Whirl - Run, Walk, & Roll for all Abilities 5K at the Waisman Center at University of Wisconsin-Madison today. It was a beautiful morning to roll together for such a great event and cause. The race slogan was 'Spread Joy and Love!" The Waisman Center is a research and clinical facility dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development. Proceeds benefit individuals and families affected by developmental disabilities and neurodegenerative diseases. Many of our Angel riders are members and participants of Waisman Center programs, and we were so glad to be there today at this wonderful community event! 💜🦋👩‍🦽🏃‍♀️💗🪽

So thankful for how warm and welcoming Run Madtown is to us! They also give us a dedicated space to set up our chairs and get our riders ready, and provide a private handicap-accessible portapotty for us to use.

Race day at Run Madtown looks different for everyone. Push rim wheelchairs, hand cranks, and are welcome in all of our events, with a dedicated wheelchair and para athlete start.

Movement looks like a lot of things. All of them belong at our start line.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped at our Run Aid Station ( #4 at Tenney Park) for the IRONMAN USA – Midwest Half Ironman WI 70.3 on Saturday, and congratulations to all the incredible athletes on their accomplishments! 💗🏊‍♀️🚵‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏅

Our Angel rider Leah has volunteered for 4 years now and loves to pass out fruit. She said, "This is hard work, but these runners are working even harder than me!" She's always so proud of the special volunteer bracelets she earns each year! ❤️

One of our Lead Guardian Angels Julie took off her socks and gave them to a runner who wasn't wearing any and suffering from blisters!

It's so fun and inspiring to cheer and support people doing hard things, and we're also so thankful for the volunteers who work hard.

Wow, we sure lucked out with a beautiful morning for the Ceiba Foundation for Tropical Conservation Run for the Rainforest 5K! 🌳🌴🦜💗🪽👩‍🦽🏃‍♀️☀️😎 Thank you to the Ceiba Foundation for welcoming us, and for creating a modified route to accommodate our chariots. Team Stacy and Team Katherine had so much fun, and we were so glad to welcome a new runner/volunteer from the Mississippi chapter of Ainsley’s Angels!

We have 2 teams rolling in the Run for the Rainforest 5K tomorrow! 💗🪽🧑‍🦽🏃‍♀️ Reach out if you still want to join us!

We participated in the Fleet Feet Madison Donut Mile. 😂🍩👩‍🦽🏃‍♀️💗🪽 Eat a donut, run a lap, repeat 4x! Katherine ended up getting 5 laps around the track with all of our different paced runners, and we all had so much fun!
