With heavy hearts but a profound sense of gratitude for the light she brought into our lives, our Ainsley’s Angels in Wisconsin family is sharing the passing of one of our beloved riders, Chantel Brown.

Chantel truly embodied the spirit of endless possibilities. She was an artist, an advocate, an avid traveler, and a fierce believer that everyone should be seen, heard, and included. Her determination, radiant warmth, and joy for life left a lasting impression on everyone who shared the pavement with her.

We know that so many in our community have cherished memories of running with Chantel, witnessing her beautiful smile at the finish line, and feeling her vibrant energy at our events. She reminded us all of the power of community and inclusion, and she will be deeply missed on our race courses and in our hearts.

Our love, thoughts, and deepest prayers are with her mother, Jacquie Piraino, her family, her dedicated care team, and everyone who loved her during this difficult time.

We will share details regarding her Celebration of Life as soon as they become available. In the meantime, please join us in honoring Chantel by looking through these beautiful photos of her from past races, and please feel free to share your own favorite memories and stories of her in the comments below.

Perfect weather at the Girls on the Run of South Central Wisconsin Spring 5K! Our 4 teams had such a great time. We are so grateful to Girls on the Run of South Central Wisconsin for always including us in their events. They do an amazing job supporting healthy and confident girls in South Central Wisconsin!

Best night ever for inclusion and moving together at the Run Madtown Twilight 5K! We had 9 riders and 26 runners, the most teams Madison has ever had at a race! 👩‍🦽🏃‍♀️💗🪽🦩🌈 THANK YOU to Beth Salinger and her wonderful staff and volunteers for inviting and welcoming us so warmly, giving us our own space to set up with a handicap accessible toilet, and handicap accessible parking so close to the start line. We love seeing the diva Harmony Breeze, too! Thank you, Madison Angels, for helping make this a great night!

At Girls on the Run, we’re proud to partner with Move United to ensure girls of all abilities can experience our life-changing programs. Together, we can continue expanding access so every girl has the opportunity to participate.
