Cheers to creativity! 🎨✨
Our residents traded their usual afternoon plans for paintbrushes, creativity, and plenty of fun during our Sip and Paint activity thoughtfully tailored for residents living with Parkinson’s disease.
Led by our art studio coordinator with help from our wellness team, the activity gave residents an opportunity to explore art in a supportive and creative environment. We’re grateful for our angels and volunteers, whose contributions made this activity possible. ❤️
The idea for the activity came from our Wellness Director after reading research on art therapy and Parkinson’s disease. Creating art can engage a variety of neurological processes, including shape recognition, sensory-motor integration, and hand-eye coordination.
Our residents embraced their unique artistic styles, including the natural variations caused by tremors. Each creation served as a reminder that our differences are what make our art and experiences meaningful.
