Combat Blindness International is dedicated to alleviating preventable blindness around the world.

After spending years traveling throughout India, Thailand, Indonesia, and Kenya, Dr. Suresh Chandra realized many of the problems with blindness in these countries could be cured with a simple 20-minute cataract surgery at a cost of only $25.

Today is World Sight Day, a global day dedicated to raising awareness about blindness and vision impairment.

At Combat Blindness International, we believe everyone, everywhere deserves access to quality eye care.

For more than 40 years, that belief has driven our work to restore sight through cataract surgery, provide children with the vision care they need to learn and thrive, empower women as eye care professionals, and bring care directly to underserved communities.
